Star Wars d20 is dead

When is that seminar?

I don't see any Star Wars RPG seminars on the event calendar, so I'm guessing that Vexed is referring to either:
"Star Wars Miniatures Seminar: Revenge of the Sith and Beyond" (Saturday 2pm)

or, less likely:
"Jedi Counseling Q&A" (Friday 6pm)

Right, the jedi counseling Q&A; thanks for the clarification!

:) no confusion intended.

Hopefully if there is word on the state of SW RPG, they will be able to give some insight on it there...

The SW minis are selling very well, although I am not sure if they are as good a seller at the D&D Minis.

Better. According to the latest Scrye the top two selling Minis games are Heroclix and Star Wars minis tied for first. I think Mechwarrior might be third, but it might be DnD, can't remember how much Mechwarrior slipped from last month when it was tied for second with Star Wars behind Heroclix.

I sold all of my D20 books for Star Wars when the support (by lack of an Episode 3 or any other print books) was gone.

Why? Seriously this makes no sense whatsoever.

I'm still playing 2300AD, Cyberpunk, and a load of other games off and on years after product support for the games has stopped.

Do you really need to be buying a scourebook every couple of months to keep your game alive? As people have pointed out Star Wars D20 has pretty much every sourcebook you could need to play in any era or setting.

I don't see why support is even needed anymore.

Though, I wonder if those numbers are, at least in part, reflective of which mini lines have had recent releases.

That could be.

Just as an acectdote, the SW and D&D minis sell extremely well in my area. My FLGS has a hard time keeping the newer sets on the shelves. They still have a few packs from older D&D sets, but all they have for the SW minis game is the newest boosters and the new Starter Set. People are also playing the game as well, so it's not just the collectors going after the figs. At least in my area, of course.

We've certainly got enough to keep playing, but it could get better.

Books that could come out for the d20SWRPG that could seriously improve the line:

*Ultimate Starships of the Galaxy: A SotG type book updated for the RCR rules set.
*Clone Wars/Episode III sourcebook: It's the one era that's never been explored in RPG books because Lucasfilm wouldn't let them until now.
*Revised New Jedi Order Sourcebook: Besides updating it to RCR, it can actually reflect the entire book series, instead of stopping halfway through since it was published in the middle of the line.
*New Republic Era Sourcebook: The events between RotJ and Vector Prime have barely been touched at all in the d20 SWRPG, and the later half of those events not even really in the d6.
*Knights of the Old Republic Sourcebook. The era was touched on in the d6 materials with their Tales of the Jedi Companion, but apparently a lot of video gamers have learned at least the basics of the RPG from this video game, and it's a rich subject for RPG materials.

Even if you were releasing one book a quarter, that's a more than a years schedule of releases right there (and leaving out Ultimate Battlestations, which is apparently largely completed).

Makes sense to me and I would leave it at that! To each their own. if we all had the same opinions it would get very boring, right!

While I agree with you BP, this is precisely why game lines die in the first place. Most of 'em are hangin' on a string from day 1, and the law of diminishing returns eventually catches up with you.
