Sooooo . . .

With only 24 hours until the new Star Wars Galaxies game goes online, how many of the happy EN Worlders plan on playing?

I'm asking because while I enjoy online games, I enjoy them quite a bit more with other roleplayers. So, post here if you plan on playing. Who knows, maybe we can get enough folks together to start a small roleplaying guild on one of the servers.

I was really looking forward to SWG. However, once the NDA ended most impressions I found were far less than stellar. This was going to be my first MMORPG.... now I'm not so sure.

yeah the now freed NDA people make it sound a bit unfinished and boring. And I have to admit the things i heard being cut torked me off, even though cuts are the norm. I guess I was more into this release so the let down is bigger.

I think I'll wait for the space expansion, by then most the fine tooning should be done and I'll be able to be a real smugler, not some ground bond loser smugler who take transports for his job.

I mean what am I smuggling things in ballons that I swallowed.

Oh, I'm sure there will be bugs and glitches and all manner of weirdness with Star Wars - that's just the way it goes with big games.

On the other hand, I find that most everything I read on the internet about MMORPGs (and RPGs) is grossly exaggerated. When reading community forums, I must constantly remind myself that a lot (possibly even a majority) of those who post on the message boards for any game do so simply to vent about their personal grievances.

It still looks like it'll be a fun game - I'll post more here after I spend some time tinkering with it.

Maybe in a year, when it's finished, but I doubt even then. It's just not fun. I've tried a lot of things to find fun in the game, and it's just not there. The beta was a great ride while it lasted, I guess, but it's not worth 15 a month... Or even 10. Heck, I'd hesitate to pay 5 for it.

One of the Penny Arcade guys said it best... "It makes for a good MMORPG, I guess, but it's not Star Wars. And that's what I wanted." And I've got MMORPGs I play already, I don't need another, and not a particularly fun one at that. Everquest, made like 5 years ago by the same people, was honestly more fun.

Ok, well assuming I do pick it up, does anyone have a recommendation about which "galaxy" to use? Maybe we should pick one to be the "unofficial EN World server" or something.
