Star Wars games in the wake of RotS

I am actually planning on starting a Star Wars d20 campaign here soon...but I am planning on setting my campaign a long, long time before the movies. I'm thinking about 50-100 years after the events of the Mandolorian and Jedi Civil wars (after the KOTOR video games).

This will allow enough time for the Jedi Order to have been re-established, and allow plenty of time for the development of new Sith Lords and Sith forces. I think this type of campaign would have a lot of possibilities.

Yes, a great deal of Stormtroopers are clones. However, we know there is also an Imperial Academy (this is movie canon, not just EU canon, because Luke references a desire to go off to it in Ep. IV). Therefore, the Empire must have mixed recruits and clones in it's ranks. If the Empire didn't recruit, there would be no need for an Imperial Academy that was open ot the likes of Luke Skywalker or Han Solo.

The Academy was for the training of officers, much like the Military Academies of today.

Really? I didn't notice that. I'll pop in Star Wars tonight, though and check that out. If that's true, it makes Luke and Han's ruse a bit confusing.
Its not true. :)

As mentioned up in the thread some, I checked this again to make sure...but only Boba Fett's lines have been redubbed. Stormies still have the same voices.

I am running one game D20 based on one month after ROTS, I have one game running 5 years after ROTS (D20) I am going to be starting one based during the Sith Wars (D6) and maybe another one around that era. I had a NJO one but it died before it even started.

ROTS Visual Dictionary: Clones are still made; they are the Stormtroopers. Palpatine sets up clone facilities elsewhere, using new templates, but maintains the original setup on Kamino.

Well, I see a change for Lucas to make for the 3D versions of the original movies... (Stormtrooper voices)

Ummm, the Stormies are clones dude... watch the special edition DVDs. All the voices were redubbed with the guy who plays the Clones and Jango Fett. LUcas says in the commentary that they are clones. He even put easter eggs to imply it in Episode II when Jango hits his head when he gets into the Slave I which compared to the Stormy who did the same thing in ANH.

So, the Stormtroopers are all like 48-year old clones? No wonder the young whipper snappers Luke and Han are so effective against them :)

I'm left wanting to do 3 things:

There is always option 4 - just ditch 'jedi counsellors' and have one jedi class. I see no reason for splitting it into two classes in the first place, to be honest.

There was an old Jedi counseling article which made Force lightning into a power that uses an attack roll, and did the redirect thing that Yoda does in AoTC as a use of a Force point associated with the Block ability.

Ultimately, though, I'd be tempted to go with adapting grim tales/d20 future.
