No, i just threw it without proficiency i just wanted it used up as quickly as possible because it was otherwise going to be fiddly to use. So i wanted the grenade thrown past Uthal if there was any risk of harm to allies. I listed in priority:

1. Hitting Uthal
2. Keeping others safe
3. Hitting other troopers.

So if there is any risk of hitting Jihahna's allies, she would not place it at the tunnel entrance.

I'm pretty sure i stated Jihahna threw the grenade PAST the sgt.

Move forward 3 metres (3 away from Uthal), throw grenade 10 metres so that radius captures uthal within 7 metres of its landing position, move back 5 metres, use my torso as cover for the others or take cover myself if they're ok.

That means we should be 7 metres from the outer radius. Finally, if grenades are simple weapons, the Jihahna has yet to add her Proficiency, meaning her to-hit would have been 24 I think?

I would think two pieces of commercial explosives duct-tapped together is one of the definitions of an improvised weapon. Grenades are specifically manufactured to improve aerodynamics to aid in the toss.

Hmm. Still don't know what I can/should do, as I'm not sure if I've taken damage. Though it sounds like the baddies might be fairly close?

We are going in circles.

Sezarious: Uthall moved 2m at 90 degrees to the tunnel entrance, so tossing the explosives further in than the entrance means he would get cover from the explosion.

GreenKarl: requiring metric precision when using theatre-of-the-mind is not a workable proposition, IMHO. Metric precision and tactics requires a tactical map and a different sort of gaming than what we've been doing so far. I would personnaly shy away from that sort thing anyway - as well as the excessive adherence to the rules-as-written this turn seems to be suffering from - as I find it less enjoyable than the cinematic, rule-of-cool approach.

In this specific case, Uhtall is 8m from the gand and Kacela. Uthall is also at least 3 or 4m from where Jiahana is tossing the explosives (the 2m he moved¨+ half the width of the tunnel -- heck, potentially the full width of the tunnel minus a foot if we want to micro-manage it all the way). I suggest we rule that Kacela and the Gand are outside the 8m blast radius and proceed from there. If not, then the gand specifically said he/she would move them both back out of the expected blast radius (post #476), so it's a non-issue as far as the blast is concerned. Let us know which it is (in or out), and let's proceed from there.

Shayuri: I'd suggest a force disarm on Uthall, followed by moving into melee range? He's got no melee weapon even if the Disarm fails, so he'll be at a Disadvantage.

I agree with Binder Fred. Precision doesn't work in this situation, you're going to have to either give us the benefit of the doubt or just specifically say what the situation is clearly at the beginning of the round (and that didn't really even seem to help since most of our positions were included in the round recap).

I'd also point out that group initiative seems to be exacerbating this problem and, considering it has taken us about three weeks to work through threeish rounds worth of combat, doesn't really seem to have improved the quick resolution of combat.

Sorry, I was making it too complex... you hit Uthall for full damage and no one else... The battle is bit to big and spread out and complex and I mixed up where everyone was. My fault, lets not worry about it and move on to Kacela's actions

I just think it has mostly just been a lot of rules discussion that's getting in the way which is fine. I worry that if we go to initiative order it would take even longer. In those games where I have PBP waiting for one person to post then actions then waiting for the next just dragged things out forever... we could try it... but I worry about the results

As for Improved Minor Object... what might be better? Maybe 2d6 + wisdom (and of course 1/2 your level). A blaster pistol does 3d6 + dex... and this one does not require a weapon. So if you were disarmed for some reason...
2d6 could work, any reason why Wisdom rather than CHA? Just remember that there are a lot of feats that can improve that blaster pistol damage (careful aim, double tap, PBS, etc.).

Just for clarity, the round so far has been:

Cal shot and missed the droid
Jihahna threw a bomb at the Sergeant and hit him pretty solidly
The Gand autofired at the soldiers in the tunnel and hit some of them for some damage.

Kacela and Reks have their actions outstanding.

P.S. Today is my birthday. I'm not fussy about presents, a Round 5 would be awesome! :D
