Sorry to bust some bubbles, but it has officially been said it is about a group of kids lost in space. I will post the Facebook or Twitter link when I find it again. Oh, and it also said while the show has kids in it, it is not a kids show.

Well, if it's a Star Wars response to Star Trek: Prodigy, it could be fun.
Is "has kids in it, it is not a kids show" code for "we want adults to watch this, too" or code for "it's really not kid-friendly". Prodigy is the former, and works well IMO as adult, the latter sounds kinda disappointing. Not that I don't like adult fan-targeted Star Wars - Andor is the best thing since the original trilogy, IMO - but having a new entry show to get new fans sounds like a good move. (You can't keep selling Star Wars toys to adults, the adults are going to die off eventually)

Another thought: Jude Law’s character might be a fake Jedi (we saw one in Kenobi). Which is why he needs the force sensitive kids to do stuff.

I don’t think it can be a response as such. This show started production before Prodigy aired. More likely convergent story ideas.

It would make most sense for it to be a "family show" e.g. Doctor Who. Might be too scary for young children on their own.

Jude Law doesn’t look like a hologram, I wonder how they will justify the adult mentor letting kids do the dangerous stuff?

It occurs to me that the set up for this might be Ben Solo’s attack on Luke’s Jedi school. Edit: the top right image looks like it could be that planet. They did say it was surprisingly dark.

If this is indeed set in the same time frame as Mando, Ben would be 3-4 at most, so I don’t think that’s where they are going with the show.

“Same timeframe” is a bit grey, and a bit messed up. It really just means “between episode VI and VII”.

Could be, but the production lead time on an animated show is much longer than most live action shows. Star Trek Prodigy probably began production in 2019 or 2020 (before airing in 2021), and word of the plot might get around, especially among others in the industry.

Yeah, but at that point it already had Jude Law attached, indicating it was quite well on in development. Probably a couple of years.

I would have to dig up the quotes, but it has been confirmed to be part of the Mandoverse and will be one of the shows that ties into the Mando movie that will wrap up all the shows. This other galaxy they end up in is likely the same one that Ahsoka is currently stranded in and they may work together in season 2 of Ahsoka to get everyone back to the home galaxy.
