Green,
Personally I want them to meet that other race that was mentioned in the grand alliance against the Goualds.
I don't think the whole point of their alliance was to be Anti-Goa'uld, but yeah, I'd like to meet the Furlings, too. Maybe we have? For all we know, that misty giant alien that Daniel's grandfather made contact with IS a Furling. Wouldn't be the first time they pulled this on us. Introducing the Ascended, while everyone's still wondering what an Ancient is, when they've already met some.
So it looks like they may actually run the 8th season at the same time as the 1st season of the new series, Stargate Atlantis. Wow!
You sure about that? I always understood that that spin-off would air once SG-1 was over. An 8th season of SG-1 means the spin-off has been pushed back a year. At least that's what I'm guessing. Got anything that says that they'll both air concurrently? I'd love it if they would, but I suspect that they're gonna wait for SG-1 to finish before Atlantis airs.
Although I think the teaser about "Get ready for an underwater spin-off!" is wrong. Since Atlantis didn't sink under the ocean at all. It's frozen over down at the South Pole of Earth, also known as Antarctica. Same place they found the 2nd Stargate and the frozen girl that turned out to be one of the Ancients. (Looks like Graham Hancock may have been right about that darn Atlantis being down at the South Pole after all!

)
Yeah, they REALLY shouldn't have let the name of the spin-off out of the bag so soon. It made a couple of things blindingly obvious. For one, the Lost City of the Ancients is Atlantis. And it's obviously Antarctica, what with the second Stargate and that woman being found, there. I gotta say, though, it'll be fun watching them figure it out. I can feel a
"D'OH!" moment coming out, when the answer has been staring them right in the face for a couple years, now, and they didn't see it. Hell, somebody wanted to stop all research in Antarctica.
Anyway, I gotta say that Stargate is by far my favorite series on TV now. Enterprise is okay, but nothing close to Stargate. It's like the old Star Trek: TNG really. Without the need to explain how and why they get from world to world to explore. And we STILL get to have some awesome space battles!
Farscape's my personal favorite, but unfortunately that went the way of the Dodo Bird.

Still, SG-1's damned good.
Can't wait to get a look at the roleplaying game when it's released, and I do hope that they tie up lots of the loose ends before the end of the series. Although, if the new series takes off well, they could continue some threads there. Personally, I just hope that the team in the next series is more cosmopolitan. Maybe a Tok'ra, a Tollan, a Nox, and a Cimmerian? Something not so earthcentric anyway.
But I LIKE Earthcentric!

Besides, aren't the Tollans all dead? Morons. But anyway, this is the story of people of Earth who've found this device that takes them to other worlds. I'd rather they not shift focus to some other place, as it'll take away what sets SG-1 apart from other Sci-Fi. Real, modern day people in these extraordinary situations. Not likely to happen, though, as the next show is apparently set in Atlantis. How they set it there is anyone's guess, but we'll know, eventually.
And there's an RPG coming out? Who's making it? For what system? And when does it come out?
