About time they figured it out, it was good to see them working as a crew at the end but they seemed to have given up to much about next week in the previws.

Hopefully that means there is even more we didn't preview. Good action this episode and some timely resolutions. They're moving in the right direction for me.

If every episode was of this caliber, the show would be doing a lot better. It wasn't great, but it was good enough to keep me interested.

The big glaring plot hole for me was the ending, which was completely contrived. You have Shady Guy, who Greer has been keeping tabs on, harass Perry-as-Ginn. So at the end, not only goes Perry let him in, but no guards stop him. What the hell?

Also, the Big Reveal also fell flat for me. Rush, who has deliberately lied to the crew, tells this wild story about a Magical Signal, and Young is down with that? I don't see how Young, or for that matter anyone, trusts him at all anymore. Rush didn't even have a leg to stand on with his "trust" rant - okay, he doesn't trust Young, fine. What about Brody, Volker, Park, and Wray? He doesn't trust them enough either? Total hubris. I'm calling shenanigans on the show from this point forward for every time someone trusts Rush from now on.

Aside from those two points, the episode was pretty good.

I liked that Eli figured out something was up. Subtle point - IIRC, Park was in the Engine Control Room. If Perry were there, they would have heard about it. I like to think that's what tipped Eli off. Also, a nice callback to Eli being good at solving puzzles with him figuring out Rush's.

The crew on the Bridge at the end was an awesome scene. Personally, I think it should have been done first season, but nice to see nonetheless.

How did Scott and Wray find Team Science? Ignoring that, I loved how Scott flipped out when he found them. I don't know why he did, but I thought it was hilarious. Team Science yelling at him to shut up was even better.

Rush suggested someone else lead, but not himself. I would assume he meant Scott, based on him and Wray going to him last episode. If true, that would be the best idea ever.

Who was in the chair? Eli; who has been sleeping with a woman...the sign of being a man, then they show him getting away from "home" with his mother a few back. ;)

I think there's an underutilized Senator's daughter (with some political experience) who I have been saying for a while now would be someone acceptable to all sides despite that pesky alien-blood concern. ;)

I am not sure that Scott and Eli alone are ideal leaders. But maybe they together could form a team.

I haven't seen the previews, but if T-Bag kills the cute redhaired women, I will never forgive him. Never.

Pretty much all of the civilians (including Team Science) are out for one big reason: Wray. Wray is already the de facto civilian leader, and it'd be a hard sell to take anyone over Wray.

Eli is terrible in high-stress situations - he could never be leader. Chloe is turning into a Catfish Alien, so she's out too. Volker, Park, and Brody seem to be followers.

On the military side - Greer is violent, James is barely on the show, TJ needs to focus on being medic over leader. Telford would be perfect, but he's MIA.

There's an added wrinkle - whoever is leader has to be good with both the military and civilian sides. Eli is a good civilian choice, but not qualified as above. Telford is a good military choice, but absent.

That pretty much leaves Wray and Young. We've already seen Wray defer to Scott, so he's the only remaining candidate.

The Captain would like to invite you onto his yacht and ask forgiveness for his crazy trophy wife. :)

Yeah, that really ticked me off. There better be an injured/dead marine next week (or at least a mention of one off-screen) or I'm going to be really pissed off. The show has been great about showing a guard EVERY TIME you see a Lucian Alliance member -- even when Eli was 'busy' -- and then no one around that time? WTH?

Not to mention, if the trailers are to be believed: They killed Ginn! You bastards! Chloe is sitting around, slowly mutating into an alien and TOTALLY FREAKING USELESS even when they give her bizarro-mutant powers and they kill off one of the few likeable Lucian Alliance members? NOT COOL. I don't care how much the writers are trying to shove Super-Chloe down our throats, she's still a useless waste of screen time and I really wish they'd realize it and move on...

Not only do I *totally* agree with you, the whole 'he's too valuable for his knowledge' is FAST running out for Rush. Not to mention -- the science crew repeatedly wonders where he goes when he's missing. Uh, guys? We have these things called Kinos...

Overheard it on the radio link? Followed the mass exodus of the Science team when they couldn't find them as the ship randomly started moving? No clues here either, but that was one of my favorite scenes.

As a side note, I like how lighting has related to their growing control of Destiny. The Gate Room (at the beginning) was VERY dark. The engineering station they've used for most of the show is rather dark. The bridge is the first well-lit set (other than hydroponics) on the show. Eh, maybe I'm over-thinking it. ;)

I kind of like the parallels between Rush/Young and Eli/Scott. Rush lost his wife, went squirrelly, and we've been following the plot from there. He's brilliant, yes, but odd and hard to deal with. Young apparently *was* a great leader (and we still catch a few glimmers of that) but he's burnt out, doesn't inspire much trust anymore, and spends a lot of time questioning his old decisions.

Eli is brilliant, a little bit quirky, and nearly as good with old technology. They hooked him up with Ginn right before (apparently) killing her off, which parallels nicely with Rush. They're also setting him up to be the science advisor to Scott, which would parallel the Rush/Young dynamic, hopefully with less disfunction. Scott, on the other hand, is the well-respected young leader on the military side. We've seen him lead and do well. He's bothered by his losses -- including the ones that weren't his fault, like the LT -- but he's on the rising side of his career.

Long story short: It looks like a generational hand-off to me -- Rush/Young are replaced by Eli/Scott and Wray maintains control on the civilian front.
