I want more of the episode time to be devoted to what is happening on the ship. The drama back on Earth needs to be minimalized somehow. There seems to be no holds barred on what is allowed to be done with other people's bodies so the fact that they are so far away has no real impact on the premise of the show.

Cool chair. Glad to see a sprout. Explore more of the ship each week. Check out a new planet or two almost every week.

Yeah this one was a bit soapy for my taste. I'm more interested in seeing how things are developing on the ship rather than all the drama going on back on Earth as well.

While it's good for Young to insist all the crew members get and stay in shape, he's probably making a mistake expecting the civilians to keep up with the military offiers. They simply aren't in the same physical condition and it's going to take a while for them to catch up. While they're going to need to be physically fit to cope with conditions on the world they find, it's not going to do any good to kill them to get them in that shape. And some might have various conditions that would have caused the militray to reject them had they tried to join up in the first place, so they might not be able to get in shape.

Also, Eli's going to have to learn how to prioritize his spying on Rush. He can't be sitting on his ass all day checking up on Rush's doing, and I don't think that Young expects him to do so. He has to pitch in to work with everyone else when he's needed, and he has to make sure he's doing things discreetly enough that Rush doesn't get suspicious of him. If Rush gets suspicious, he might start covering his tracks or something else, who know just what he knows about the ship?

Ok, I think we may be reaching the end of the drama, think that was the last of the major characters going back and getting closure, except maybe for TJ and Greer. Also, kind of think if someone in command found out about what Lou's character was doing, he would be shipped out to the anartic base!

As I said before: Rush = Dr. Smith --- Eli is looking more and more like Will Robinson caught between his father figure and the person who stimulates / challenges him to learn and adventure.

Got to say, Greer's character is growing on me.

Yep, it is a good format for the show, if they keep with it,
open part of the ship one week, then walk on a planet the next week.

While I enjoyed the episode, I'm going to agree with pretty much everything here.

I really liked what happened to Telford near the end.

My first though is that Wray is going to have a pretty easy time recruiting people to her side. To be perfectly honest, I don't see any reason why she wouldn't be better than either Young or Rush.

There is one cardinal rule in science: never fake data. Rush may have had the support of the scientists before, but that's gone now (more below). My guess is Wray's information leak on Rush is her opening salvo to take control.

Young on the other hand is obviously obsessed with Rush, and is clearly losing control himself. This was somewhat set up in the scene between Rush and Greer. I have a feeling the next episode we're going to see Young start to lose command as well.

There were some subtle things between the beginning and the end. I had to double-check that the one lady TJ interviewed was sleeping with two different guys (and the implication being a bunch of them). Most of the scenes changed, but Young's didn't - another sign of his growing problems.

Another thing I found interesting: Eli told Scott he didn't want to open up to TJ. In the last episode, he did just that. Of course, perhaps that was because of the hopeless situation.

Overall I thought it was an okay episode; not great, but necessary. It seemed to be a lot of set up; resolving some home plots and moving Wray into a position of taking over command.

My feelings as well. I think it was a necessary episode, and I think it worked better to combine all the Earth drama into one episode, rather than interleave it with the Destiny part.

On the first point, it was another subtle bit where Scott didn't seem to terrorize like Angry Guy did.

As to the second part; there's no real prioritization needed. Rush faked data, anything he does now is suspect. Is it fair Eli's only job is to double-check Rush's stuff? Not really. Is it necessary? Hell yes. I will say I thought with the red screen that Eli had found a possible scenario for dialing the gate in the Sun (it's what he's working on in the beginning). I didn't realize Eli was going through all of Rush's data. However, even were Rush reliable, a second set of eyes on a problem never hurts.

My guess is that as a result of the beat down, now Lou will start sleeping with the wife.

My other guess is the chair is llike the ancient chairs, not so much the ancient info transfer devices, or some combination.

I think if she tries to take control, the scientists will tend to side with her. They don't trust the military, and they don't trust Rush.

That or possibly Wray and Young will find a way to run things together. The biggest problem Young has is that the scientists aren't really fond of the military and they don't like being ordered; while Young probably expects people to take his orders.

Also, now he's suspecting that Telford's having an affair with his wife, and it's distracting him. Kind of hypocritical of him, given that he'd aleady had an affair with TJ.

There were some subtle things between the beginning and the end. I had to double-check that the one lady TJ interviewed was sleeping with two different guys (and the implication being a bunch of them).

That could be brewing trouble as well. I know there's not much entertainment on the ship, so this sort of thing's inevitable, but sleeping around if going to cause more conflict, especially when these guys are military.

Another thing I found interesting: Eli told Scott he didn't want to open up to TJ. In the last episode, he did just that. Of course, perhaps that was because of the hopeless situation.

Yeah, I would write it off as different situations.

I didn't realize Eli was going through all of Rush's data. However, even were Rush reliable, a second set of eyes on a problem never hurts.

In that case, then Young should pretty much say that Eli's job is to assist Rush in getting the ship up and operational (since Rush doesn't want to work with the other scientists, and none of them seem to be able to grow a pair and put up with him). Then tell Wray and Scott that Eli's also there to check up on what Rush isn't telling everyone else; they're the only two besides Young who really need to know what Eli's doing.

However, I still say that shouldn't be taking up all of his time and that he should do some of the physical training with everyone else. First of all, being in better shape is good for his mind as well; so it can help him with learning what he needs to know, and to be more alert as to what Rush is doing. Second, he volunteers to visit some of the worlds they're going to, but he really does need to get into better shape, just look at how he was straggling when they were at the desert planet.

My guess is that as a result of the beat down, now Lou will start sleeping with the wife.

I don't know if Telford would do that just to spite Young, especially since he seems to know about Young and TJ's affair. Telford comes off a bit as pretty hardass on discipline. She might, especially after making up with Young in Telford's body.

Never trust a chair with straps to hold you down!

I get the impression you don't like the dentist. ;)

I know there's not much entertainment on the ship...

Heh, a thought just occurred to me. They should get one of the more creative people to write a play and enlist people to act in it. That would be a way to keep some of the more "useless" people busy and entertain the rest of the crew in the process.

Of course, this is assuming they have a lot of useless bodies floating around with little to do, and I'm not sure that's the case or not.
