Im gming a mid level campaign where a new player wants to create a 12 year old lvl 7 fighter. His character concept is interesting and I think it could add alot of fun to the game. However I cant find any rules for playing a child, especially one who is a fairly high level. Please help a brother out ;)

Yeah, the best thing here is to use the rules from d20 Modern for this. From the d20 Modern SRD, "msrdordinaries.rtf":

Children
Children (newborns to age 11) are handled differently from other characters. They do not have classes or levels. They begin with the same ability score package as ordinaries (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8), but their ability scores are reduced as follows: –3 Str, –1 Dex, –3 Con, –1 Int, –1 Wis, –1 Cha.
Children have 1d4 hit points plus their Constitution modifier (minimum 1 hit point). They have no skills, feats, action points, or occupations. Their base attack bonus is +0, they have a +0 modifier on all saving throws (plus any modifiers for high or low ability scores), and their Reputation bonus is +0.

Children have a +0 modifier to Defense and a normal speed of 20 feet.

Children have no effective attacks and should be treated as noncombatants.

When a child turns 12, he or she is considered a young adult and takes his or her first level in one of the six basic classes. At that point, the character becomes an ordinary (or hero, in some cases).

I guess in your specific case, 12 years old counts as "young adult" which is an age category I don't see defined in the d20 Modern SRD or my D&D PHB. Maybe someone else with d20 Modern could post whatever modifiers "young adult" entails.

Actually - that's really useful for a situation in my current game also. Thank you for pointing that out, Dcollins.

I could have sworn there were rules for Agining, at least in 3.0. I remember I played an "Elderly" Elf before, and it gave me like -3 Str, Dex and Con but +3 Int, Wis and Cha.

There were rules for Children too I thought, but maybe I am mistaken there.

I don't quite agree with their -1 Int, -1 Wis, -1 Cha. It would rather be +2 Int, -2 Wis. You learn much faster and much more at that age... (granted, you would have to not count this bonus for things like languages learned).

I dunno, I would simply make them "small", and have the effects of reducing in size 1 category. In other words, they would get like +2 dex, -2 str, they'd be small, and have lower movement. They would simply be a halfling as far as movement and stat adjustments, but a human for the rest. Also, don't forget, children would be FAR less respected than an adult.
