Stats for the thinblade?

First Post
I'm creating a fighter8/wizard1/bladesinger3, and the DM has allowed me to use the elven thinblade instead of a longsword or rapier. However, I can't seem to find the stats for the thinblade. I thought it was in the Arms & Equipment guide, but I don't see it. Maybe I just missed it...I don't know. I didn't see it in Races of Faerun, and I know it's not in the FRCS or the core books. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd be most appreciative; I simply want to verify that the stats I've got from memory are actually correct. Thanks!

It's in one of the earlier 3e Dragons (the one that says "Warriors kick ass" on the cover). Basically, it's 1d8 damage, crit 18-20/x2, exotic medium weapon. I don't recall the cost, or if the damage was slashing, piercing, or both.

Don't forget that you can use weapon finesse with it and I'm pretty sure it's piercing.

I have the Dragon issue in question but I can't find it :(

Those stats are right.

Funny thing about it is -- i know those stats, was going to give them -- and I've never seen the thing in print.

I've only ever seen it here on enworld. That amuses me.

Those are the stats I have as well, but I don't know the cost, and I don't know if it's considered a slashing or piercing weapon. I know I've seen the weapon in one of the books, not just a Dragon magazine.

Anyone else...?

Sounds a little on the overpowered side; since it has the damage of a longsword and the threat range of a rapier.

Then again, it is somewhat balanced by the fact that you have to spend a feat to use it effectively.

i'll add the following info from the dragon article: weight 3 lb, cost 100 gp. seems a little undervalued considering its benefits.

Without knowing the stats, how did you know you wanted one :)

FWIW it seems a fairly standard exotic weapon, as in "just like a normal weapon but with one aspect tweaked". You could consider it as a rapier with an increased damage die in mechanical terms.

Cheers

Though the thinblade is a nice weapon for a bladesinger, you should be aware that, whenever you loose your thinblade and have to use a longsword or rapier instead, you can´t use the bladesingers special features. You won´t find find a new thinblade that easily...
