Statting out your followers.

Lord Pendragon

First Post
I believe that there's a rule that followers (gained from the Leadership feat) can only be certain NPC classes. Could someone tell me what those classes are, and where that rule can be found?

Thanks guys.

I also allow the Henchman NPC class from Pale Designs.

Epic Leadership from the ELH offers expanded options for NPC aritocrats and adepts, and even PC and PrC followers.

Leadership Feat Description
Pg 45 - 46 DMG
D'oh! Serves me right for not having an actual copy of the DMG. Thanks for the help, guys! :)

Help my memory, there's no such rule about cohorts, right? The SRD says nothing about it...

The Epic Level Handbook goes into a little more detail on cohorts. Basically, the only signifigant thing I noted is that a cohort with a prestige class (or classes) counted as five levels higher for purposes of the inital recruiting.

Umm, I never can find anything I look for in that book, anybody care to give me a hint where I can find that?

On a related note, does your character have to be epic level to attract a cohort with a PrC?

Sorry, I don't have the book in front of me. It should be near the section on the Epic Leadership feat. However, I don't think you had to be epic to recruit a cohort with a PrC. I think it just said to treat the cohort as if it were 5 levels higher for the purpose of the initial recruiting (e.g., the max level cohort you may recruit). The justification was that a character that belongs to a PrC is more of an individual, less likely to be a sidekick/follower.
