Dren: You got a great hit on the chain, or rather, what you believe should have been a great hit. It doesn't appear to have any effect whatsoever. Your first two attacks take down one of the cultists standing next to you easily. The third hit staggers another, but they are still standing.

From his position on the ship above, Tranio looks down and sees the cluster of enemies surrounding his companions. It is a perfect vantage for him to fire his chilling beams ito the crowd, as he sees the haze of death swirling amidst their ranks.

He fires two beams, but only the second hits.

OOC: Chill touch at 2 of the enemy, within 5' of each other (start from top left?). With Reaper and Inescapable Destruction.
Beam 1: 1d20+8=9. (miss)
Beam 2: 1d20+8=20. Damage 2d8=10 (no resistance).

Ordrar slings his shield on his back and grabs the hammer with both hands
"Here goes nothing! Watch it downthere, cannondwarf incoming!"

OOC: The idea is to land on one of the pirates if possible. If not, move as close to them as possible and attack, not using Action Surge for mooks
 

Tranio: Your second chilling touch wraps around the top left cultists. He recoils in pain for a moment before dropping to the ground.

Ordrar:
Give me an acrobatics check to land on a foe!

Ordrar: Riding down the chain goes just as planned and would be a thrilling experience for most non-dwarves. Your landing is a little less graceful, but you to knock out the middle cultist in the process.

Aremus:
Another kraken thug comes charging in, but his swing (15) bounces off your armor.

Dren:
Your enemies panic further when they see one of the chains shatter, their plan falling apart before them. Two more rush in, but their attempts to cut you (5 and 8) are pathetic.

Tranio looks about to see how many are still aboard with him, and not in the increasingly confusing conflict below. Looking down from his vantage, he fires off two more beams at those in the raised aft deck.

Chill touch at 2 of the enemy in area 7 within 5' of each other. With Reaper and Inescapable Destruction.
Beam 1: 1d20+8=28 Critical hit!. Damage = 8 (in previous roll) +1d8 = 16 (no resistance). Woo hoo!
Beam 2: 1d20+8=11 (miss).

“Cannae ‘urt, lad!” Dren called to Aremus.

The dwarven monk turned his attention back to the cultists, grinning through his beard as he launched another series of attacks.

Ordrar lays about himself with the hammer, first targeting the one under his feet before focusing on others. He regrets not having his shield at the ready, but sliding down the line is not something you do with the shield strapped on your arm. And using the time to get it in the middle of the combat...yeah, not.

OOC: If 7 damage kills the prone pirate, second attack goes against the one "down" from him (ignore the advantage). Otherwise 13 vs prone pirate (low damage :( )

 

Tranio: Your surprise attack is devestating as two unsuspecting enemies are crushed within the magic chill touch. The others scramble to safety.

Aremus: Though you have the right idea, these magic chains are strong and your attacks bounce right off.

Ordrar: Your hammer strike finishes the foe under you and the next swing damages one of the cultist attacking Dren.

Dren: Your storm of kung-fu strikes drop the two nautical cultists next to you.

Cultists: The enemy now surrounded by the party screams for more of his allies to join him before taking another swing at Aremus. Finally, a little luck on their side (nat 20) as he stabs into the distracted hero for 11 damage. Another enemy bursts out of the room Tranio was attacking and takes a poor (10) swings at the monk.

"Ouch!" said Aremus as the cultist scratched him with a blade, "Leave off, fiend! I'm busy freeing this giant!"

He stepped sideways and disappeared into the space-between moments and reappeared near the giant's head, leaving the cultist (and his friends) behind.

"Let's see if these chains are easier to break!" he thought, as he hacked at the chains holding the giant's shoulders in place.
