Sundering a Shield? Opposed Attack Roll?

And yes, I've had a vested interest in pursuing this, I've a character that can be either large or medium, and since his sword is not yet a magical one, it makes a difference as to whether or not he is proficient in his greatsword in both forms.

How does he change size?

However, on your second point, I don't need an exotic weapon proficiency to wield a kitchen knife because it has a small grip, whereas a great sword (yes, I've wielded a few in my day) has a larger grip. :)

Yes, but we were talking about a huge sized character using a weapon that would in fact be half-a-hand weapon for him.

A human fighter can wield a bastard sword with two hands w/o an EWP, but to wield it wingle-handed takes one. The cause isn't the grip, it is the style of use, and the weight differential/balance.

I thought so too, until I saw the lastest FAQ where it says a medium sized character cannot wield a bastard sword one-handed without EWP(BS) at all. I came as quite a shock to me.

A (Large) Greatsword wielded by a large sized character is basically the same a Large Longsword. I would allow it IMC.

My quess is Dragon Disciple, but a few other PrCs and/or templates accomplishes that.

He said "both forms"... sounds like a character that switches between Large and Medium repeatedly, not just becomes a different size upon gaining a level or template.

Ok then wild shape.

Ok then Polymorph, wild shape, Righteous Might, etc.

With Polymorph and Righteous Might, equipment changes to match the new form. With Wildshape, you don't have the hands to use a sword anyway...

I realised that just after hitting the 'summit reply'-button. (Give me a break, it is sunday morning at 8 o'clock.)

Depends on the shape.

Sorry, I thought we were talking about a Large size creature. :o

Yeah, I though that's what I said. You need EWP(BS) to wield it w/one hand, but not for two hands. :) Yeah, it was a bit of a change, especially for my wife who loved bastard swords under previous versions. :(

But my hands are bigger. ;) Sorry, couldn't resist. :p
