Superhero RPGS

In my opinion it is a good thing. Being able to apply a multitude (almost limitless number) of special affects to the listed set of powers allows you to create abilities and powers that you would never imagine you could create just from reading the list in the book.

In fact a new game, Savage World is trying to take this concept to a new level by offering only 24 powers and then gives guidelines on how the power's "Trappings" affect the power in the GM's setting.

I've come to the conclusion that less is more - in fact, my homebrew system has a magic system with precisely one attack power; whether you choose to zap someone with lightning, create a huge explosion of acid, or just slice your hand through their sternum, they're all just slight variations covered by the magic rules. (Which extends to superpowers too.)

I'll try to have a demo for this system online by next week, in case anyone's interested.

OK, this is driving me nuts. WHERE in the M&M book does it have that option? I'd use it if I knew where to find it.

I'd still appreciate an answer to this question. Where can I find that 1 Power Point = 3 Skill Points Option? Thanks for the help.

Another option, for importing super hero rules into other games (or creating a super hero RPG out of a "normal" d20 game) is Four Color to Fantasy, from our very own Natural 20 Press. It works normally within a standard d20 level mechanic, and can be easily adjusted to function within a VP/WP system or in d20 Modern.

Using your Wolverine example, he's more or less a high-level Fast/Tough Hero with several levels of 4CTF's Hero class, covering the following abilities:

- Faster movement (Fast Hero talent)
- Damage Reduction (Tough Hero talent)
- Increased Damage Reduction-- Roll With It (from SS) or Improved Damage Reduction feat
- Scent special ability plus Improved Scent feat
- Regeneration 5 (at least)

Fast Healing doesn't cover Wolverine's healing factor, since he seemingly returns from the dead several times and because conitnued attacks after he falls over cannot seem to kill him.

It's not in the rulebook. I believe it's presented in the errata as an option, but it has been most commonly seen at the MnM message board at Green Ronin. Personally, I use a 1 pp = 2 skill points option.

Wolvernine

Not being a fan boy or comic geek or anything like that, butbut I am into accuracy. ALL of Wolverine's senses are heightened, not just his sense of smell. For some reason, writers have zeroed in on his sense of smell more than the others.

Ah. Looks like I gotta get someone to download and print out the errate for me. Thanks a bunch.

With MnM, I'd build him with the power
-Natural Weapon+10 with Penetrating Attack x2
-Durability (against Crushing Attacks)
-Regeneration+10 with Back from the Brink
-Immunity to Disease
-Super-Senses+5
-Startle, Scent and Track
-The set of feats in the martial artist archetype.
