Trailer SUPERMAN Final

I'm not saying this for show, but to me, Superman on screen will always be, Richard Donner* and Christopher Reeve. I have never watched any TV series like Smallville or Lois and Clark, but every big screen adaptation of Superman since has just fallen flat for me. I have seen them all, and this just looks like another Superman Returns or Man of Steel. Both of which were disappointments to me.
While Dean Cain has gone full Kevin Sorbo since, Lois & Clark was amazing for the mid-1990s. Both leads were great, really looked the part and had fantastic chemistry. Worth watching some clips, at the very least. The show spent a lot of time at the Daily Planet and had good dynamics there.

This will always be an issue with either bringing something back like a reboot or in a sequel. Imprinting on media, I keep wanting to make a separate thread on the topic but I can never find the right words to explain it.

Wasting him as a very Luthor-esque Dr. Sivana was one of many strange DCEU choices.
I think they thought Shazam was going to be a lot bigger. So did I - it's a good movie! Not totally sure on who the target audience is, though.

I concur on this last trailer feeling a bit busy to me. Having a ton of colourful characters might work, though since this is the relaunch of Superman, I hope the focus does not become diluted. Gunn has a great history with ensemble films, but I don't want this to feel like an ensemble film, at all.

Or maybe it will, and I'll love it anyway. Time will tell.

I would have hoped that when someone at Warner Brothers saw Mark Strong's screen test as Sivanna, they would have been able to pull the emergency brakes and asked some questions about they were doing with the DCEU. But I have that feeling about a lot of the DCEU.

In any case, 100% to Mark Strong being a great, scary and charismatic Lex Luthor in another timeline than this one.

I read years ago that the reason Superman never came to the big screen (and same for Spider-Man) was they had to wait for technology to catch up so that making Superman fly had to look believable, and they did that. Same thing with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man.

What don’t you agree with? That lots of movies have large numbers of named characters? It’s a verifiable fact. I promise I didn’t just make it up. While one is entitled to one’s own opinions, one is not, as the saying goes, entitled to one’s own facts. :)
My point was and perhaps I wasn't clear is that there seems to be too many superfluous characters than needed.
