Survivor 11/26 SPOILERS!

GREATEST. PLAN. EVAR!

i dont know how obvious it was to the general viewing public , so I dont know if its a big deal...but I called Jon's deception immediately. I was making multiple phone calls to register the swerve with my friends so I could lay claim to the prediction.

The perfection wasnt just pulling it off and getting the (Strangely substandard) reward, but in "swearing on my grandmother" and getting Sandra and Christa to vote against Tijuana at the end.

Even his answer to Jeff's question about backstabbing was beautiful.

As Rupert had become more and more of a whiny bully over the last few weeks... and Jon had been revealing more and more of his intelligence, my rooting had started to shift. I thought it was sealed last week when Rupert gave the ULTIMATE sore-loser speech, but i was wrong.

The "dead-grandma-plan" makes Johnny Fairplay my favorite survivor EVER.

ahead of Boston Robb, Rudy, Tom the Goat-farmer, Geeky Rob from LI, and Richard Hatch.

So my question is... If Jon makes it to the final two... should he reveal his lie?
I would think that if he doesnt tell them he lied, he will probably lose a popularity contest with any of the others...
however, if he DOES tell them, he might be able to swing a few votes his way because he really did outwit and outplay them
at the very least, he stands to lose NOTHING by admitting his lie if he makes the final two so he might as well.

Thoes Ive asked for opinions so far , think it would be suicide for Jon to admit his lie.... and disregard my logical view...so what do you guys think?

It is such a huge lie (and a very dirty lie) that it should only be revealed if he makes the final 2 and it all depends on who he is going against. I applaud his tactics as he is not a physical threat.

I don't think it was a good move by the ladies to keep Burton around. He is the largest threat at the moment and that may be the last time they get a shot to bounce him. Jon is very similar to Rob from last season except he's got a bigger mouth. I liked Rob but Jon is way too cocky for my liking. That said, I don't think Lil deserves it nor does Darrah. I'm not even sure who I would want to see in the Final 2 at this point.

I really liked Rupert but knew he would get tossed at the first opportunity. Looks like Lil will be the swing vote for next week.
And according to the survivor website, Jon's lie continues to affect things even next week.
I like how Burton has played the game and am surprised that he is still around. Realistically, the only way any of the females will win it right now is if they stick together and get rid of Burton and then Jon. They are both plotters and very good at it. None of the women (except maybe Sandra) have shown that they have the right gameplan to go toe-to-toe with either Burton or Jon, as far as a final vote goes.

Okay, I have officially typed way too much at this point....

I haven't watched Survivor since the first season, but was bombarded by the
"biggest lie ever and immunity gets stripped away" trailers on ABC.

What was the big lie and why did somebody get immunity stripped?

wycen...

the immunity strip was nonsense.

the immunity challenge was to find all the smaller words in from the letters SURVIVOR PEARL ISLANDS.

host jeff awarded immunity to burton but then realized he had left out the second i in liaison... so after granting burton immunity, he took it away and let the others who were still alive in that challenge continue with a new puzzle.
no big deal.

as for the lie... well that was more interesting.
first they swerved you with thinking it was sandra lying about not throwing away the fish in anger over ruperts departure last week BUT

the real big lie came during the reward challenge.
usually one of the reward challenges involves your closest personal friend/family member. When Jon was visited by his friend Dan, he was informed by Dan that Jons Grandmother had died. Tears and sadness followed, leading the others to basically "throw' the reward challenge so Jon could spend the evening with his friend and learn more about his grandmother.

alone with only his friend, Jon revealed that the whole thing was a lie.
Jon pre-planned the faking of his grandmother's death. (presumably to win at least the one reward challenge, and to get some sympathy)
Later in the episode, when trying to sway Sandra and Christa to vote for Tijuana instead of Burton, Jon swore on his grandmother that he was telling the truth. Of course, they believed him and voted with him, which they probably wouldnt have otherwise.

As one might expect, MANY people who watch the show think that Jon is the lowest form of scum for telling this particular lie. But theyre just mad for being out-witted by Johnny Fairplay.

So, if I'm to understand this fully, somebody from off island was in from the beginning with the liar and they had this planned if the opportunity ever came up.

Yup, his best friend and he worked it out ahead of time. The friend wasn't really needed except to simply show up. Jon pulled off the deception perfectly all by himself.

I could ask you the same question. ;)

I actually have odd hours. I work late and typically don't get home until around 12:30am. I have off this week but it's somewhat of a habit. Sometimes I'm up really late and other times I pass out right when I get home. Go figure. But I have a great job so I deal with it.

Nah. I think the only realistic chance Burton has to win is to go to the final two with Lil - everyone else will beat him just because they didn't get a second chance, and neither did most of the jury. So the jury will vote for the survivor who made it to the final two without a second chance. Same for Lil; she's pretty much an automatic loss against anyone other than Burton. As for Jon, he'd beat either of the two outcasts, but would be in tough against any of the other three - he's just backstabbed too many people, even when he didn't have to. He might be competitive against Sandra, but I think Christa would beat him. Darrah we still know very little about, her lack of air time is pretty suspicious - often people get more airtime as their elimination gets close.

At this point, my gut feeling is the final three are Darrah, Lil, and Burton. Then either Darrah wins immunity and crushes the remaining outcast in the jury vote, or one of the outcasts wins and the jury has to pick one of two people they'd normally never vote for. If one of Lil or Burton loses before the final three, the other will be playing for second. I really think Sandra and Christa should have told Jon and Burton that the only way they'd ally is if the four voted Lil out - Jon would agree, Burton would know his goose would be cooked, and the results would be interesting to see.

As for Jon's lie, Jeff Probst said in an interview at the start of this season that it'd feature the biggest lie he's ever seen, and that the players wouldn't know about it until it aired. So there might be some interesting reactions in the post-boot interviews over the next few weeks.

This is the first year that I've watched survivor and I'm hooked. Why the hell was it on yesterday instead of tonight? I hate it when they switch shows around like that and make you miss episodes. Ack!
