Survivor, 12/11 (spoilers)

What did everyone think of tonight's ep? I'll admit I've only started watching in the last few weeks, but I feel like I've jumped in at the right time.

Burton biting it wasn't surprising, but I'm just amazed it took this long. My family was practically screaming at the TV the last few weeks when the girls would put away common sense to pick each other apart instead. But maybe it was all for the best: the three that are left executed their plan brilliantly. I really thought they'd blow it.

Now, here's the ending I would've liked to see: Burton gets up to extinguish his torch, and right in front of the jury and everyone, John blurts out "My grandma's alive, suckas!" Then, next week, he proceeds to auction himself off to the other three as a guaranteed win for whoever carries him to the final two. He pockets second prize (he's gotta know he won't win; didn't he see the jury hi-five when they saw Burton go down?) plus whatever deal he cuts with the winner.

I still think Johnny Fairplay can win if he plays his cards right.
He has to convince Sandra and Lil to dump Dara next week (assuming she doesnt win immunity AGAIN) because out of these 4 she will DEFINATELY win the final immunity.
Then he will be in the final immunity challenge (always the same, see previous threads) against Sandra and Lil who have both proven to have NO stamina, mentally or physically.

If he takes Sandra to the final...

Rupert, Christa, Lil will vote for Sandra.
Burton will vote for Jon.
The 3 Morgans will do what? They dont like EITHER choice. But if Jon can win them over on the OUTPLAY card he might win. If the jury manages to get Sandra to fess up to dumping the fish after they voted Rupert off... Sandra MIGHT lose Christas vote too.

If he takes Lil to the final...
Its a complete tossup. People feel pity for Lil but she has already been voted off and thats a huge mental block. Even Rupert might vote for Jon over an Outcast.
No way to call this one at all. The Morgans might still resent Lil for dumping Andrew (and shifting the power balance to Drake). Only Sandra the sore-loser is sure to vote against Jon in this situation.

If Dara sweeps immunties...
she wins over any of them. vecepia revisited. except without the annoying praying.

A final two with Jonny Fairplay and Sandra or Lil could EASILY lead to the best jury speech since Sue Hawks infamous "leave you to the vultures" in season 1.

Let's go Johnny Fairplay!

I think that they were hi-fiving because Burton was an "outcast". He had been voted out once before already earlier in the season (just rehashing this because you said you jumped in the last few weeks and probably missed this. Burton and Lil were both voted out earlier in the season, but got a second chance in the worst Survivor change ever. I think the jury just doesn't want one of the "outcasts" to win.)

Regardless, I don't think Jon has much of a chance left now. I don't think any of the women want to be up against the guy who "just lost his grandma". Pity can go a long way...

My guess is that Jon wants to win immunity and take Lil to the final 2 to play the "outcast" card against her and look for pity for his "dead grandma".

What I think WILL happen is Darrah will win the final immunity and take Sandra with her to the finals. Darrah wins in the first unanimous vote...

Sandra and jon make sense.
Tujuiana probably does not like Sandra simply because Sandra switched sides on her. Ryan has no real bond with either but will respect Jon's 'Outplayed' card. Darrah, well, it all really depends on how she gets off the tribe, I cannot see Darah voting of Lil. If that happens, then you have Jon, Sandra and Lil. Then, although history is against him I can see Jon winning immunity. Lil goes then its between Sandra and Jon. Good lord can you imagine the final day with only Jon and Sandra.

Jon is in a great situation. He has three girls that want eachother off and he is not that big of a threat because he is hated, and no one see's him as that big of a liar. I belive we will see him in the final two.

I still hate him, but I would rather see him win than Lill and maybe Darrah.

Really..? I guess I assumed it was because he lied to Rupert, Christa, And T.

I dont think that the jury cares anymore about his grandma..No, Rupert and Christa, will vote for Darahh or Sandra, before Jon.
T. and Ryan are swing votes.
He is set.

I cannot see Jon winning Sandra's, T.'s, Darrahh's, or Rupert's vote over Lill's. Regardless of the fact that she sucks at the game.
No one seemed to have a big complex with them being "outcasts" except Andrew and he's not on the jury. It has not even been brought up in three weeks.
But if he goes up against Sandra, Darrah and Lill may vote for him over her.

Again I disagree, If she win's Immunity she will take Jon. He is the best to go up against in the final two.
If she would go up against Sandra; Rupert, and Christa, would for sure vote for Sandra. Thus it would not be unanimous. If she goes up against Jon she will have everone's vote except Burton's.

The only thing I know about this show "for sure" is that nothing is ever "for sure"

But it's all just IMHO.

IWIWESBRN. (I wish I was eating some bacon right now.)

Okay, I do agree with that. Lets change my wording to I am pretty sure....:)

Nah. Rupert and Christa are pretty much lock votes for Sandra should she make the final. Darrah would win - she's a likely win against any of the other three at this point - but it wouldn't be unanimous. Most of the possible final two combos look like mismatches, unfortunately. If you're curious, the final two combo the spoiler sites have been predicting for weeks now is:

Lillian vs. Darrah.

My favourite part of this week's episode was Burton's final comments, when he ripped into Lill for betraying her alliance. That would be the same alliance in which both other members voted to boot her, right Burton? ;)

I think the two girls will keep their promise to Lil and vote Jon out. The only change would be if he wins the immunity, in which case Darrah is toast. No matter how you cut it both scenarios have either Lil or Jon out 3rd which puts Sandra in the final two. If she's against Jon then she wins. If she's against Lil I still think she still wins. However if she's up against Darrah I think Darrah wins on a 4-3 vote.

One downside to them airing the finale tonight is that we game on Sunday's from 7-10, so I'll have to tape it. I'll unfortunately probably hear who wins before I get a chance to watch it Monday night as people at work always talk about the show.

Hmm, I dunno about that. Sandra vs. Darrah is probably the closest possible final, which is why I think we won't see it ;) . If Darrah makes the final three, I don't think the final two will be Sandra/Darrah. The way the jury looks right now, Sandra and Darrah each have two lock votes (Rupert/Christa for Sandra, Ryno/Tijuana for Darrah), Jon has one (Burton), Lil has none. Sandra and Darrah really don't want to go head to head - that would make Burton/Jon/Lil the kingmakers, and it's just too chancy for either one to rely on getting two of those three.

So if the final three is Sandra/Darrah/someone else, then I think there's three possibilities:

Sandra wins immunity, Darrah gets voted out.
Darrah wins immunity, Sandra gets voted out.
Third person wins immunity, one of the above two get voted out.

Be interesting to see how it plays out.
