Yeah, this is getting hard. There are so many ways for a spell to be bad. Picking one as the worst way is definitely fraught.

Maybe it's my undying love of weird utility spells, or maybe it's the Planescape: Torment fan in me talking, but I can actually think of quite a few scenarios in which Feign Death would actually be a worthwhile spell to cast. It's as niche as it always was, but is it useless? Hardly.

Most of the ways I would want to use Feign Death would require a longer duration than one hour.

True Strike continues to get my vote on the grounds that not only is it useless, but it's also a cantrip, which means in order to cast it you have to permanently burn one of your precious cantrip slots on it. Unlike Weird or Mordenkainen's Sword you can't just stick it in your spellbook on the off chance that you someday want it for a niche scenario like beating Tiamat's weird spell immunity (because it ignores upcasts, you can't use Bigby's Hand or Spiritual Hammer against her).

Useless + high opportunity cost = worst.

I find that once someone is convinced a creature is dead they tend not to keep checking.

And yet, Romeo and Juliet would have ended very differently if Friar Lawrence's potion had only a one-hour duration.
