The creature slaps Ngikhnit's flail away with no harm to itself. Despite being near surrounded, it seems to have no trouble keeping track of everyone.

OOG: no flanking bonus applies; Quozen is up, then UT1 and UT2.[sblock=Quozen]The white outlined square at the market stall indicates where the magic missile struck a creature.

Quozen makes glancing contact once, and solid satisfying contact with a second blow. But the creature's outer skin seems as hard as wood.

It returns the blow with an appendage dripping with acid that misses by a hair. Its tentacles flail uselessly in the direction of Midias. And then, trailing shadows like smoke, it slips north-west and into nothingness once more.[sblock=not Pendrake]Slithering sounds can be heard somewhere to the south.[/sblock][sblock=not Ngikhnit]As if there were not enough going on, it sounds as though there is someone calling from outside the Square, back in Spelding Row. It is not easy to make out what the voice is saying.[/sblock][sblock=OOG]Quozen hits once but inflicts no damage. UT 1 has had very little luck with full attacks, and misses three times. It 5' steps NW, and no one can see it, though everyone knows which square it is in. 50% miss chance attacking into that square.

Round 11 begins.
Don't forget Bless, which is now halfway through its duration. Pendrake is up...[sblock=Pendrake]White outlined squares indicate where creatures are known to be, though they are not visible.

Pendrake's well-delivered stroke nevertheless hits nothing but air.

Something like a black octopus wreathed in smoke slithers across the Square from behind the near marketstall with repulsive speed, in full view of all.[sblock=Midias, Peladus, Pendrake]It heads for one of the narrow alleys in the north of the Square, passing into the shadowy outer reaches of the circle of light, then into blank darkness.[/sblock][sblock=Ngikhnit, Quozen]It heads for one of the narrow alleys in the north of the Square, disappearing along it.[/sblock][sblock=Maps]The white outlined squares indicate where a creature is known to be, or was last seen.

[sblock=ooc] this should avoud the ooc box for you. Can we tell which way the voices came from? And does Pendrake see any thing that will work as a club?

oh, and is he still nausiated? [/sblock]

[sblock=OOG][sblock=not Ngikhnit]One voice, calling from out in Spelding Row, which is the collection of houses that forms the southern boundary of the Square... the street from which you entered through the alley to the south.[/sblock]There is quite a collection of objects visible around the Square. There are of course the market stalls themselves (one of which is known to contain a table and an ugly inflated dead fish) and little shacks (at least one of which contains a pair of low stools). There is a fishing net laid out in front of the shed wall to the NW; there is the draycart, of course; there are three wheelbarrows to the NE, the southernmost of which is packed with tools. Perhaps I should have pointed it out specifically for Pendrake when he took his 5' step this round, but he seemed quite occupied with matters to his south and west.

The nauseated condition wore off for everyone long since (or you'd have only a move action).[/sblock]

OOC: On the assumption that what's visible to Pendrake is also visible to Peladus (he'll avoid AoO's as he moves) ...

The young wizard moves quickly towards the northwest, saying, "Somebody help me with this net."

Peladus crosses the Square, heading for a fishing net spread out in front of the tumbledown shack to the right of the alleyway along which one of the creatures disappeared at speed.[sblock=OOG]Yes. The PCs with low light vision saw the net some time ago, but did not call attention to it. Peladus and Pendrake first had the opportunity to see it when Quozen moved up to join them with the sunrod, but Pendrake was nauseated still, Quozen was at once attacked by the creature, and immediately afterwards Peladus saw the creature for the first time - so I figured that a fishing net was not high on their list of priorities, though it did appear on the map. The creature was located directly between Midias and the net at his first opportunity.

'Nock, it is 40 feet to the first square adjacent to the net, so I've put Peladus there, but he could move further west with the remainder of his second move action, if you wish.

The fishing net can be treated as the weapon. That is, no one is proficient, so a -4 penalty applies. Also, it would take a rather lengthy 4 rounds to fold up for throwing, though it could be thrown unfolded with another -4 penalty. Range is 10 feet, so a -2 penalty applies unless thrown when adjacent, which would provoke an AoO. Peladus, for instance, could make a ranged touch attack -7 with it. Of course, you may have something else entirely in mind.

This round Peladus first sees more than the one wheelbarrow, including one containing various tools. Midias as yet has still seen only one barrow, empty.[/sblock][sblock=Maps][sblock=Midias]White outlined squares mark where a creature is known to be or was last seen.
