Tabletop creators leave X for Bluesky in droves

With something like TikTok or Youtube it just makes sense to feed you more of what it finds you watching, but Youtube's algorithm is incredibly bad. At least for me. It keeps feeding me AI stuff, that I actively block. For some reason it also sends me a bunch of foreign language videos, when none of the stuff that I actually watch is foreign language. Just bizarre.

For some reason, YouTube's algorithm started to think I am a native Spanish speaker. The videos I watch are interrupted by the same ads that I had before -but in Spanish.

While I do occasionally some foreign videos (i.e. Rammstein, occasional some Latvian folk music, and a handful of other things) none of it is Spanish content.

My best guess is that the algorithm (wrongly) stereotypes me based upon being open to non-English content and sometimes watching things related to pro-wrestling.

For me it's mostly Hindi and Korean, with a smattering of Spanish. The Hindi would be fair, because I live in an area with almost 40% South Asian population, but I use a VPN. Maybe the VPN (usually set to Seattle or LA) is why I get the Korean? At any rate, I don't ever watch videos in either of those languages, and never Spanish either.

I do not feel the need to agree with or accept all the beliefs of my friends in order to be friends with them. I have a big problem with people wanting to force their views on me or put me through purity tests though and is one reason I never went for organized belief systems.
Now see, I have a big problem with people who "believe" that my identity isn't valid, that it should not be accepted, that my rights should be stripped away, and I should be forced to conform to the gender I was assigned at birth. This is not a "disagreement" I can share with someone and still be friends with them, because the root of our "disagreement" is their fundamental denial of my humanity.

I don't give a crap if you like different movies or games or music than I do. But if you are sexist, or racist, or homophobic, or transphobic, or any other interconnected bigotry that is not something we disagree on, that is you having a worldview shaped by hatred and that is fundamentally at odds human rights and no, we absolutely cannot still be friends.

That is what people are talking about when they say things like "If you disagree we can't be friends anymore".

It has done that to me enough that I don't think it's an attempt to serve up anything to engage or to match what the database knows about you. I think it's just a bug.

I am not friends with jerks either. I believe everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect.

I disagree about how a lot of folks use the if you disagree statements. I think people should talk to each other rather than shadows on a wall.

Of course, I do not talk to folks much these days. I am exhausted, in general, and have no patience. Too many deaths among close family and friends.

I think I came back to ENWorld as a way to distract myself.
