I'm finding that I like the lst functions. Plus BlueSky is setup as a Public Benefit Company, as since the source code is open it's easier to see what the company is doing in the app.

As someone who doesn't use Twitter and hasn't joined anything new since Google+ (I'm still bitter about that), I wonder what the over/under is on this one. I have some friends who've announced they are heading there and leaving Twitter. I thought, "As long as you post your family stuff and pictures of your cats on Facebook, you can post your political hot takes wherever you like."

I guess as long as we have Enworld, that's enough for me.

I already have more BlueSky followers in two weeks than I had in my decade+ on Twitter, so there's that.

The existence of fast and effective moderation also helps out a great deal.

I've been on Bluesky since 2023 and it's mostly been very quiet, especially compared to Threads.

I'm now seeing multiple disparate communities moving over from Twitter all at once. I suspect it's finally going to take off in a way that Mastodon, Newsie (RIP), Spoutible (probably not long for this world), etc., never did.
