I made the terrible decision to automatically transfer over 17,000 tweets to Bluesky, many of which make no sense as they link to articles that have gone the way of the dodo or use link-shortening services that have died off.

And that's not even counting the purely cringeworthy ones (I do not need my meal choices from 2014 further memorialized).

Avoid this temptation, people.

Oooof! Yeah. While I will miss some of the things in my twitter history a lot, some of those things do not make sense without the other person's replies there.

You're not the person you were when you signed up in 2007 and while it might seem daunting to start over, see it as a fresh start. It's not going to be bad unless one care about the numbers. And we shouldn't care about the numbers.

Let's emphasise the social part of it rather than the media — and I say this as a freelancer, not having it all be about work and stats and all that is good for mental health.

For those of you who do truly do prefer Enworld over other forms of social media, may I recommend purchasing a Community Supporter package?? Your use of "insert local currency here" to financially support Enworld is the best way to stick it to other sites!

At least this is a better ad than the Wikipedia begging banners.

Probably should use the EnWorld domain name so the accounts can be verified. IE, rpg.enworld.org & publishing.enworld.org.

Yes, it's a restaurant in Toronto. Well done.
Truly they are a Scotland Yard Detective.

The unofficial motto at bluesky is

Block, don't engage.

Sound advice, really.
What a perfect slogan for a social network.

They also call their posts 'skeets'.

For those of you on BlueSky, please consider following Bridgy, which allows your account to be followed from Mastodon.

Because BlueSky is not properly federated (yet… they keep promising), Mastodon users can't currently follow and chat with you there, so this provides a way to have both sides interact.
#Bluesky is 'properly' federated under a different (and possibly more advanced) protocol, and why hasn't #Mastodon implemented a bridge so users of the former can follow the latter? Meanwhile I'll follow them on #Mastodon or wait till they start using #Bluesky proper.

If you feed hate, it grows. Feel free to engage with hate, but it doesn't work
