Dragonlance Takhisis Revealed In New Dragonlance Preview Art

WotC has shared some new art of Takhisis, Dragonlance’s 5-headed dragon queen.

I love the dragon art, but I'm not a fan of impossibly unwieldy armor like that. Even in WoW I use older more practical pieces as my visuals, rather than the stuff that sticks out all over the place.

A valid critique but IMO that armor works in her case. She's like a sea urchin, beautiful but stay away or risk writhing agony!

Dig it, very much. From 80s hair and eyeshadow to smoky goth eyeliner. Also, clothing that covers her.

Deities would be among the few figures who could actually rock the chainmail bikini as they wouldn't be fearing damage. Depends whether you want temptation to be part of their portfolio.

Which is the case. IIRC she had 3 forms per the books: 5 headed dragon, dark warrior and beautiful temptress.

Sorry, all I can find as a citation is TVTropes. So we don't have proof from the artist--though at least one other person has noticed.

As for practical armor--that actually doesn't matter for a goddess. Something impractical, whether it be unrealistically spiny or skimpy, is actually a nice way to show that the being is supernatural and doesn't have to consider practicalities.

The Dark Warrior could easily be a tempter to people attracted to that half of humanity. As a supernatural being, she could even appear as the sex/gender you are most attracted to--different people might see different things.

She's the most powerful evil being in Krynn. She doesn't have to play by any rules.

I've always preferred the sleeker Caldwell version of the dragons, so I'm not a huge fan of that art and they way dragons are depicted in D&D now. Eh, I guess that boat sailed more than 20 years ago though...lol
