"Swimming is not my strong point, if we did try that then I'd suggest going at day time since then we can see if someone gets into trouble."
OOC: Are there any trees around that we could cut into a makeshift raft, not to carry everyone but to assist floating/swimming? we could possibly lash any heavy armour we have to the logs too?

Round 0

Errol paused to consider, and looked over at the still rather tired prisoners. “We may not have a choice but to hurry across the bridge,” he said. “Crossing on the water, we risk losing people.”

They knew people were following them. They could provide a rear guard. But were there any on the other side of the river?

“We’ll be open and exposed, but if we’re far enough on the bridge, so will our enemies. If we provide rear guard, Sir Jondal, can you lead them? I am hoping our enemies weren’t able to get across the river any better than we can and that it is safe on the other side.”

200 cp (Held by Errol)
Set of Keys (Held by Illvelious) - one key opens the doors to the guard room, +3 more keys
Small figurine of a one-eyed orc (Gruumsh)(Held by Illvelious)
Ring of Fire Resistance (Held by Errol)
Silver ruby ring (600 gp)(Held by Errol)
Reszor, magical rapier - Rapier (uncommon), requires attunement (Held by Errol)
Reszor was commissioned by a soldier turned assassin to enhance his ability to kill without being detected. It has a star motif etched into the blade and the handle is of blue leather. Dried blood clings to the blade and cannot be cleaned off. The weapon counts as magical and when you make an attack against on opponent while hidden the attack will make no noise. Additionally, when you make an attack with this weapon and get to use bonus damage dice, such as superiority dice or sneak attack dice, roll an additional die and discard the lowest. When you say the command word "Reszor" the blade will glow with dim light out to a 5ft radius, saying the command word again will turn the light off. Finally there is a mild curse on the blade that drives the wielder to kill. After rendering an opponent incapacitated or unconscious make a DC7 WIS saving throw to stop yourself from killing the creature.

Desairn Valley, Day 8, Midday

Illvilious quickly crosses the ancient bridge. It feels open, and if you were under attack you can think of few situations that would be worse than this. The two mile stretch must also be horrible in inclement weather and you wonder about the sanity of the builders.

The other end seems quite, it's certainly offers fewer places to ambush travelers than the east end of the bridge. There are few trees and undulations in the terrain that can hold more than a man or two. It would be hard to surprise a wary group at this end of the bridge.

Looking around you think there may have been recent activity, but you cannot be sure it isn't simply other travelers on the road. You're inclined to think that if the earth cult wanted to ambush you here they've missed their chance at the other end of the bridge.

You continue on to Beliard with a paranoid eye south towards the hills where the earth cult would most likely come from. However it proves to be the north that seems to offer some threat as thick smoke starts rising in the distance.

You are about halfway between the Stone Bridge and Beliard, the whole trip should have taken an hour, but you likely have an hour still to go.
