Feathergale Spire
Evening

"These guys are definitely involved in the attack on the delegates, but the prisoners aren't here. Do we move on without questioning the monks, or stay and plead ignorance of the departure of Savra and Thessel, or attack the monks before the knights return?" Ilvellios asked.

“If they are involved on the attack, then yes, questioning the monks is likely a good idea,” Errol admitted. “It would be good to get Savra and Thessel out, too.”

"What about the lookout at the top? You can see for miles around the Spire. Anyway, I can't leave, I have nowhere to go. They know where my family live and I've done....things I'd get into trouble for - prison even. They all have. If I fled, they'd bring those things to light. While the Feathergale Society exists I'm trapped here.

"I've not been there, but there is a gully along the east wall of the Sighing Valley where the monks go. I think they have some kind of temple there. It's impossible reach without someone from the Spire seeing you though. I think some of the delegates are being held there. The rest are probably at the Sacred Stone monastery or Riverguard Keep. The stone monks are the ones who ambushed the delegation, and pirates at Riverguard helped them cross the river before we – the Feathergales – attacked the stone monks, so you might want to look there as well."

“The fog is thick out there,” Errol said. “I am not sure how much your lookout can see. But perhaps we can take care of him,” he mused. “As for a place you can go, head to Red Larch. Find the tailor shop there and tell the owner Errol Dax sent you. He will help you, either back to Waterdeep, or lie low until we deal with the Feathergales.”

Errol looked toward the old druid. “I am afraid the fog and the knights out on the hunt are our best chance of doing this with minimal resistance.”

To Savra, he asked, “What do you want us to do about the Society? Kill everyone? It doesn’t seem they are all aware of what you know.”

GM: Just to clarify the fog is only in the valley to the east of the tower. The higher ground to the west is not foggy.

The higher ground is sparsely covered with vegetation with little place to hide for some way. Though Snikkelfritz and Nariah are camped about an hour away in a small re-entrant (assuming they will be joining again).

It would take you around four hours to get back to read larch.

Ilvellios nodded at Duran,"If we attack without provocation then we are no better than they are, so it sounds to me like we want to knock out the lookout at the top of the tower, and then run for the gully, hoping to get under cover of the fog before the knights return.."

“I would hope it wouldn’t come to killing everyone,” Errol agreed. “But we do not know how insidious the infection of the Society is. Ilvellious’ plan seems sound. Perhaps we can spike some ale?” he mused. “Find something in the kitchen or the infirmary?”

“If we take out the lookout, Savra and Thessel can take one of the hippogriffs and escape to Red Larch while we investigate the cave.” He looked to Savra. “Fly low. It’s night, so hopefully you can escape unnoticed, but otherwise you will have to outrun them. Hopefully they are preoccupied with the hunt, however.”

Feathergale Spire,
Evening

"I am not sure about taking a mount, many of the knights love their mounts more than anything else, they'd be very angry if one was stolen.

"I am not sure how many of the Knights can be saved. Thurl is beholden to an elf who calls herself the prophet of air, I have only met her once, she is very seductive in her teachings. The knights have all gradually been subverted, starting with small acts of questionable morals, and working up to some truly... heinous deeds," she averts her eyes briefly. "Perhaps some of them could be saved, though I suspect many would not be willing to own up to thier atrocities.

"If you dealt with the prophet, perhaps her hold on many of her followers would be broken. Sh-She is a powerful magic user though, and she has many followers., skilled in both the martial and the magic arts. I feat it is not something you can resolve easily."

"I do not like this on bit all this talk of cults and deception, I fear I am to old for this. Maybe we could make Thurl see the error of his ways? What I do know is the knights shall be back soon. We must come to a descion my vote goes with checking out what lies past this gully."
