D&D 5E Tall's PotA Campaign - IC

Round 2

Duran and Nariah are knocked over by the force of the wave and left unconscious on the deck. Ilvillious managed to keep his footing as the wave crashed over him, though he was left battered and coughing. He recovered quick enough though and charges the genesai pummelling him with a flurry of blows. Errol also manages to stay afoot and looses an arrow at Pike, catching him solidly, but the Halfling appears to take the shot well. J.V. takes the battering from the wave then moves to cover his fellows, attacking the Shoalar's mind with his magic. Shoalar screams and flails has arms at nothing in the air around him before running from J.V. diving into the water to get as far as possible, the flow of the river taking him further along.

Shoalar swims back towards the boat before disappearing in a swirl of mist and spray, only to reappear near to Illvilious, just out of reach. He points at Illvilious and an icy blast strikes Illvilious. Pike drops his crossbow and pulls out the mace at his belt as he charges at Errol, intent on revenge for the arrow attacks, but flails ineffectually in his rage.

GM:
Initiative: Group 1: Nariah
Group 2: Sholar, Pike, Pirates
Group 3: J.V. Errol, Duran, Illvilious
Azurewraith, your save in the post hasn't worked, but I gather from your other posts that it failed.

The first paragraph is essentially the end of round one so Duran will have to make his death save. The second paragraph is the proper start of round 2 so Nariah will have to make her death save.
[SBLOCK=Rolls and notes]
Shoalar WIS save: 1D20 = [2] = 2

Shoalar moves 5ft to the end of the boat and dives in continuing his flight for 25ft in the water. The water then washes him a further 30ft. Illvilious gets an AoO against Shoalar. On His turn he swims 30 feet towards the boat and casts misty step to teleport back onto the boat.
Ray of Front vs Illvilious: 1D20+5 = [17]+5 = 22
2D8 = [2, 4] = 6

Ilvellios gritted his teeth as the ray struck his torso, the cheap tunic doing little to protect him from the sudden cold freezing his chest. The heat of battle was upon him though, and with his heart pumping madly he was able to keep attacking. Looking over his shoulder, he saw that two of his companions were down, and he knew that he had to take down his opponent before the pirate could cast another spell. Once more closing with Shoalar, he tried to pin him in a corner from which he could not retreat..

The halfling first mate Pike charged at Errol with his mace. The archer danced aside and yanked out his rapier. He thrust at Pike and threw a knee out, trying to trip the halfling up.
