The 8 classes in the PHB...

So, I think we're all fairly sure what the eight classes in the PHB will be (no new news here - this is my guess):

• Fighter
• Ranger
• Paladin
• Cleric
• Wizard
• Warlock
• Rogue
• Warlord

We're not so sure about the races, though. What do we know?

• Tiefling in.
• Gnome probably out, although Bruce Cordell's comment was "wait and see".
• Elf in.
• Eladrin in.
• Half-elf in.
• Dwarf in.
• Human in.
• Halfling in.

No word on half-orc, drow (""Possibly but not confirmed."). Aasimars are not in, warforged looks exceedingly unlikely.

There's a "racial change which may raise some eyebrows", and we're getting some sense of a mystery race (a playtest character referred to as "mystery character - we're pretty sure about the eight classes, so the mysterious part looks likely to be a race).

Have I missed anything?

There was a thing about the half-elf quite early. Haven't heard much else of it though.

I still think that the "racial change which may raise some eyebrows" is that gnomes are in, but that they now are Large...

Edit: Too slow. Need to work on that Haste spell.

Curiously, there's no real brute race in there (unless you count dwarves as one).

We have humans with horns
Humans with pointed ears
Humans with more pointed ears
Humans with..uh... pointed ears?
Short stocky humans with non-pointed ears
Humans with human ears (well, duh, they are humans)
Short humans with pointed ears (do halflings have pointed ears?)

I want my brutish humans with non pointed ears!

I'm hoping that the 'mystery character' is either mysterious by virtue of being a bard (IIRC there was an indication after the 'eight races in PHB' post that this might not be quite that definite after all) or that it's a changeling.

Are all those classes confirmed now? Or are some still speculation? In that case, which of them?

I want giant as the mystery race...

I'd like to see Goliath make it to the PHB... Big bulky race, but not half-orc.
