Yep. Tron/video games/Running Man.

Hopefully we'll see plenty of glowing neon helmets and protective gear, and motorcycles that can turn 90 degrees at full speed.

And no realistic environments inside the computer! I want blocky Dire Straits characters! I want to run from a 3-D Pac-Man through a maze of glowing walls!

Your guess seems more accurate than mine, JPL. I'm switching my vote. Either way I'm a winner I guess :D

Maybe, but the kids don't know that.

Trust me. I have my finger on the cultural pulse of Generation Y.

They like the MP3s, they like the Nickelback, and all the kids like the Tron.

JPL wins the prize.

Note that I said "my favorite" Arnold movie, not a "great" Arnold movie. :)

I knew some of you would be disappointed by the shift from 6 to 4 mini-games, and I feel terrible about it, but I _had_ to make a change in order to support existing mini-games and take care of the stuff we've been unfortunately lax on lately (Star Wars, RPGA coverage).

It's possible that the magazine will grow in size soon (if we keep selling more ads), and at that point I'll be able to reevaluate things, but for now it's got to be four games a year.

But what a set of four I've got planned!

Woo-hoo!

I think the reason I dig the minigames so heavily is that I've always generated far more ideas for campaigns than I'll ever actually use. It's great to see some off-the-wall ideas developed to the point of playability in a limited number of pages.

But seriously...get Bruce Baugh on the phone [soon as he's done with Gamma World] and get him to work on that Buckaroo Banzai New Wave sci fi pulp game. That's money in the bank, man. Your babies will be wearing solid gold diapers.

Yeah, but how on earth is Tron getting more popular? I'm going to ask the 19 year olds I tutor next week if any of them have even heard of tron, let alone seen it.

My guess would have been Dune + Total Recall, which would seem (to me) to be a nice fit. (Dune's been getting an increase of attention lately via the sci-fi channel's remake.)

I admit that I have been hearing more about Tron in recent months, though. Sounds like an interesting mini-game idea. I look forward to it!

I don't know that it really is getting more popular... but there is "TRON 2" the upcoming PC game so maybe it is the consciousness of youth. *shrug* I've always thought Tron was a cool concept.

I've also always wished for a Reboot RPG, so *IF* they were to do a fun videogame game I would be more than happy. Hmmn, who wants to be Mario? Dirk the Daring? How about the "block" from Atari Adventure? hehehe
