The Breaking of Gavar IC Thread: Chapter 1: The Search for Helmdos

ooc: Don't worry, Kamard, we're not un-interested, it's just 'that time of year' Anyways, I'm back now so time to make with the posting.

IC:
Arin rushes in, moving out of the way, wide around the guard and towards the next door, as she's certain her friends can take care of this lone man. She sets up to guard/check the next door while they dispatch of him.

OOC: Move around the guard to the next door, trying to stay out of reach of AoO's, then set readied action to attack anything coming through the door that's not one of our rat-friends.

OOC- Vargo, don't forget that we are using a d20 roll for saving throw DC's for spells. Ashe, we aren't using called shots with any sort of mechanic, but if that is where you want to aim, sure thing.

Saxon: You move in to attack the man as he is standing back to you, and as he turns to block you, you simply weave in and strike him a mighty blow (it was a crit threat). 5 points of damage later, the man is bleeding from a wound under the rib cage. The man sneers in pain, and hisses through gritted teeth, "fools, you're in for a world of pain."

Ashe: As the man is gloating for no apparent reason, you move in to stab him in the neck, hitting him soundly (also a threat, and also 5 pts of damage). The man begins to bleed unpleasantly from his ribs and from a happy little gusher just below his jawline.

Next is Marcus, who charges up haphazardly into the melee, swinging wildly with his bastard sword and missing as atrociously as one could hope to.

Arin moves into the ready position next to the doorway, and moves her quarterstaff into position to rap someone as they walk along that tunnel.

The man with the spear looks back and forth between Saxon, Ashe, and Marcus, and then strangely drops his spear and attacks with an open hand attack to both Saxon and Ashe, missing them both. He then screams loudly in a strange language.

Mzarem, looking at the action and deciding that he can't fight there as well as the three men are doing, moves to the mouth of the tunnel opposite Arin and gets down into a pounce.

Finally, at the end of the round, Vargo finally gets his spell off, casting Command (rolled a 19 +1 +3 +2=25 save DC). The man gets a slackjawed expression on his face, nods dumbly, and raises his hands over his head.

Well, bugger.

Can't say I'm surprised, what with my initiative so low. Now only if I'd rolled quite as well for my initiative as for my spell...

Ahem. Tackle him, and tie him up, folks. Got rope in my pack if you need it...

Saxon, using rope provided by Vargo, will tie up the surrendering person, though anyone who could do it any better is welcome to do so.

OOC: Marcus will assist in holding down and wrapping the foe in the rope for next rounds actions. :End OOC

"Hold on my friend, I think you should have sone assistance in binding this one..... just in case!"

OOC: after this is done I'll turn my attention to Arin to make sure she is ok...... :End OOC

"Are you ok Arin? Are you hurt?"

Ashe eyeballs Marcus oddly

"Does she looked scratched friend marcus, ney she is fine let us proceed" and with that Ashe starts inching towards the door wary of Arins staff

Arin glances back long enough to wink at marcus "I'm ok, I've been over here the whole time." She giggles and turns back to the door, moving her staff back slightly so Ashe can get by, then laughs some more when she sees his wary look. "Don't worry, I don't bite... usually. ;)"

Arin then turns her atention back to the door, still smiling.

OOC: Readied action to smack any bad-guy I see.

Saxon smiles after making sure the bound person won't die if left unattended.

"Come Mzarem," he says quietly, "You still have the opportunity to sink your teeth into something."

He follows the others cautiously, his weapon still blooded from before.

Sorry I've taken so long to say something, when I looked at it last it said Festy had posted, I didn't know there was a whole string posts thereafter!

Rd 2: Saxon ties up the prisoner, various others perform their neat actions, whoo.

On the beginning of round 3, sounds are heard coming down the tunnel that Arin and Mzarem are guarding. It sounds like several people are headed down that tunnel.

One of you could rush in to meet them, or you can simply get ready for them to enter.

IC: Arin motions silently for everyone to get ready, then hefts her staff in a double-handed baseball-bat-like grip, and gets ready to SMACK the first thing through the door (Unless it's that guy we're looking to rescue)
OOC: I'm assuming that since a staff is a large weapon I can use it two handed, like a G.sword, etc? If so, that means my readied action to smack the first badguy through is a single attack, +4 to hit and 1d6+4 damage. I'll then get into my more normal, 2-weapon stance.
