"Just go, I'll study the situation from a distance," Vanitri says. "I think Laynie can get to the crux, that's why he wants her. But neither of us know where she is, so we'll have to play the cards we have. Just don't mention Tenny's missing."

Vanitri is going to examine the Crux from afar, wondering if there's some way it looks like it might have been triggered. He'll stay as far away as he can while doing so.

Rinaldo nods. He grabs Ashnar and walks down the stairs. Feeling the astral-like environement coming back, he deicde to float down with his friends body. He enver felt so hoepless... but that is impossible he thought, no situation is hopeless. He still have cards in his hand, he just need to play them well.

*Rinaldo heads down the stairs, floating along with Ashna's lighter feminine body--at least the corpse isn't as heavy as last time. At the bottom of the stairs, he sees Pride and Gluttony waiting to walk him over to Eve's chambers. When he enters, Eve smiles.*

"Ah, Rinaldo. You and your friend have decided to take me up on my offer. Good, good. Please, take a seat," she sweeps her hand to offer a plush, comfortable divan.

"Maybe. Most likely. Just a few things to precise before we accept. First, a question I didn't ask. Where is Laynie?" asks Rinaldo, as he put the corpse of Ashnar on the divan. Rinaldo decide to stay up for the moment.

"Ah, and I have an answer for you and an aid in going there. But in due time, my friend, in due time. First, I have a question for you--how do I know I can trust you? You seem a goodly fellow--does that mean you keep your word?"

"Before all, I'm a merchant. Not keeping my part of a bargain would be ruining my reputation, and my reputation means a lot for teh business I hold. If we both get out of this tower alive, you can visit my shops in Orussus or Monemvassia. I trade in magical goods... you might find something that interest you, even if for now, I'm trading with mainly magical trinkets compare to the power you wield." tells Rinaldo.

"Would it ruin your reputation? I see, well I guess I should trust you then. You wouldn't lie to me, I'm sure. Now, all I ask of you is to bring me back Elpis and then leave me alone without foolishly making rash attempts at the Crux. What did you desire from me in return, Rinaldo my friend?"

"I want to see Ashnar brought back to live before going after Laynie. That would prove first you can do what you've told me and that you can respect your part of the bargain. Once we are back, I want Hogarth to be release from his soul gem and be brought to live. After that, you remove this tower from this place and neutralize the risk of that madness which is chronomancy from this world and you allow us to leave this place without more harm.

In exchange, I'll bring you Elpis and won't touch the Crux, which is, anyway too danegrous and too far from our knowledge to be fully understood. It is too risky for us to play with it without a good reason. I think you won't give us one, my dear."
