The Crux of the Matter

"That doesn't do much to reduce the mysteries of the tower. My thoughts have been muddled a bit by the case of paranoia I went through, and so my theories may still be colored by that, so it might take a while to order then. In the meantime, I believe there are some other rooms to be checked?"

(There's one more down here, I believe?)

(OOC: There's one more back in the hallway with the monster that got Tenebrynn, yes--technically two counting the door Tenebrynn was opening when he was tagged. Also there's stairs leading down. Going back to the other hallway to check those last two? I'll just assume yes)

*Ashnar checks the last two rooms, and they each prove to be empty sleeping quarters, with multiple beds each. Much like the other rooms in this hallway, there is little of particular interest in either.*

*Meanwhile, Laynie has finished translating the book.*

"Hey guys, I finished! Why are we going over here? Now that I did a good job for you, can we please go back to that awesome library so that I can read some books? I love books! Pleeeeeeeease?" she gives an adorably cute pleading face to which it is hard to say no.

"If she is this Dark Lord you mentioned and would kill any one of us just because she felt like it, why would she want to atone for killing someone, even someone she cared about? You sound as if you want her to help us, but that doesn't sound like such a good idea to me." adds Tenebrynn who had been listening intently.
"Just you my friend, just you," Vanitri says. "And is it not unlike a confused young girl to do strange things for love?"

When Laynie comes back...

"It's not safe Laynie. The memories of Elayna Valsice are here. You remember, she was the one who killed all those people at the Accademy."

OOC: When we find a place to rest, I want to spend two GM credits to level up.

"Elayna Valsice? Well, maybe she knows the answers to how to fix Mister Tenebrynn? I bet it's in one of those beautiful books...Elayna Valsice must have had awesome books! But tell you what, can I look at those potions now?"

Hogarth follwo Laynie, making a sign to Rinaldo that he couldn't stop her. Rinaldo smiles back at Hogarth before turning hsi attention to the little girl. "You have finished? Can we know what that book tells. I hope it worth the trouble, I think any clue that could help us to understand that cursed tower will be welcome."

*Laynie hands the book and the translation over to Rinaldo.*

"Here you go. Just fairy tales and other such stories mostly. Take a look at the first illuminated character of each chapter put together into a string. It almost looks like it spells something when you put them together in Old Medibarian, though not when you translate it into Common."

*The illuminated characters in order in Old Medibarian spell out 'THESWARTHYSWORNSOPHISTICATE' whereas in Common it is merely 'KDAAKQQLLTORCVKKPLSLJNVOHKN'.*

"Haha very funny." replies Tenebrynn. Apparently not all of his mirth has left him, though this was more likely sarcastic than his earlier bout with excessive happiness.

"Something Vanitri said, don't worry about it Laynie, sorry to interrupt your research. Though what The Swarthy Sworn Sophisticate might mean you've got me there." replies Tenebrynn.
