"Well if one of these reduces rest time required and one would make it so that I can sleep soundly through a short period, perhaps I could take both and rest the night. Not that that will solve the problem as I'll be faced with the same threat tomorrow." offers Tenebrynn.

(OOC: Even if you had 1000000000000000 Charisma, technically you still couldn't sleep soundly because every minute you'd be required to spend a standard action to stabilise (which you'd auto-succeed)

Any suggestions for proceeding? I'll just let you know that you are in no way required to solve the riddle in the book (or to have even decided to check that book for the message) to continue the adventure, though it may make things easier)

(Let's see, we covered everything on the ground floor, except the library on account of memory sparks. One floor up, we had the mini-library and the laboratory, as well as the sealed door. We have a stairway down from the ground floor. Assuming that's all correct, that means either the stairway down or the sealed door should be our next stop.)

(OOC: That's correct. Also, the enemies so far have retreated down to the ground floor. Seeing as they didn't appear to be living in any of the rooms on the ground floor, that may give a good picture of where they are, though whether you want to encounter them in your current shape is a different question--personally I wouldn't)

(Well, if Eve and Xu are actually downstairs, that leaves the sealed door and the swarthy sworn sophisticate.)

"Well, let's see what are the following sentences? And the first words to go with."

(Ashnar is interested in the bold letters)

The Swarthy Sworn SophiSticate

"There was an enchanted land, once upon a time, ruled by a wise king."

"Sailing the seven seas in search of adventure, the pirate king was a handsome scoundrel, but he had a heart of gold."

"Sorcery descended upon the land, as the foul Enchanter Malifex forced his wicked magics upon all those in the kingdom and took away their wills."

"Sin can arise from virtue with even the slightest temptation, and such was the case for Sir Meleagaunt of Gorre, once the greatest champion in all the lands, blessed with a strong arm, a keen mind, and handsome features that made the ladies swoon."

"Sometimes, there is no happy ending."

(OOC: These are rough translations that preserve the Old Medibarian first letters)

(OOC: And direct common translations, preserving word ordering--)

"King wise ruled land enchanted, once upon a time."

"A handsome scoundrel, pirate king, with heart of gold, sailing across the seven seas."

"Over the land, dark magic descended, Enchanter Malifex vile took kingdom's wills sovereign."

"Keen mind, handsome features lady-swooned, strong arm, all had champion Gorre-Meleagaunt, but temptation makes virtue sin."

"Just not expect happy ending always."

I thought you mentioned that he could since he meditated instead of slept?
