(You guys always wait till I log out to start the action, don't you? :p)

Ashnar remains mostly silent through the discourse, only muttering "Scun? That's odd." when he finally learns the name of the half-orc that killed the Grey Render. The revelation that all (or maybe most, remembering Senex) entities here are some aspect of Elayna Valsice wasn't quite as surprising to Ashnar as it might have been. Ashnar had noted earlier that the entities did not even acknowledge Tenebrynn as a person, and referred to him more like he was the group's pet. And they seemed rather dismissive of others who were not her in some way.

"That means that the best chance Tenebrynn has right now is that we go downstairs and hope that Envy still has her diamond dust, doesn't kill any of us in the process, and that we don't alert her of your presence. There wouldn't be any chance that a scroll is beyond the seal, is there?" Ashnar makes a mental note to send Fareye out with a message once they are out of the tower.

(Astral? Perhaps we can meet up with Charlarn and Planus, our top* clerics? Of course, even they can't help Tenebrynn. :p)

"Astral, you say? Does the tower touch into the plane itself, or just emulate some of its traits?"

(Knowledge (the planes) +7)

(*XP-Wise)

"What is he...?"

"You're a funny man, Ashnar," Guile laughs, "You must think Envy is Eve. Not quite."

"It has Astral qualities, but it is not the Astral plane, no," Senex offers.

"As for beyond the seal--there's plenty of magic items in there. After all, that's where the magic item lab and workshop is located. Do watch out for the Deck of Many Things, though. It's unpredictable!"

(Hey, it's easy to misremember that. Eve/Envy, and Envy sure sounds like the part who'd take away the diamond dust.)

"My apologies, I misremembered that. This is a lot of names to keep track of at once. A Deck of Many Things?" Obvious distate shows on Ashnar's face. "I'm not exactly fond of gambling to start with, and if even half of what I heard about those decks is true, I'd rather..." he stops himself. "But my philosophies aren't too important here. The important things now are the Tower and helping Tenebrynn."
Ashnar turns to his companions, and tiredly reiterates the options. "So, to be able to move significantly beyond the seal, we need to rest. Tenebrynn can't without significant aid. We don't have easy access to the longterm respite of stoneskin. We would either have to face Eve or open a path for her.
Polymorph is too shortlived to help alone. As far as I understand the matrices, depending on the imparted inertia, it would take twelve to 35 castings to keep him stable during his four hours of trance, a significant drain of aspects' resources, if they even have such resources and would be willing to use them for him. He is somewhat able to keep himself stable while awake, but he has lapsed, so means to keep him stable are important. We do have that elixir, which may help during the time that we rest.
Or Tenebrynn doesn't rest and uses those means to keep stable while we rest alone, which weakens our ability to move forwards. If Tenebrynn can feel a lapse coming up and warn about it, that might help a bit, with the aforementioned caveats. I suspect I missed some options, so if you can think of anything else.
"

(OOC: True, there's only one time when they made it clear the two were definitely separate--when Guile mentioned that Envy attacked before Eve heard about you guys and ordered everyone not to attack)

"Well, I've been thinking. If you don't mind having a mindless pet toad or something around, Baleful Polymorph is rather long-lasting and should keep the form stable."

ooc: So having Tenebrynn avoid all lights, he managed to make it in and listen to this discourse?

"So much of this is beyond me. But at least I know understand what I need to do to remain whole and help against this Eve and Sin. Is there anywhere in the tower that is like outside. Somewhere that we could rest for a couple of hours with virtually no time in here passing? If that were possible we could grab the dust as Vanitri suggested and then flee to that place, pass several hours of subjective reality and re-enter the tower without Eve having a chance to do anything about securing the upper floors." offers Tenebrynn trying to maintain concentration and still offer advice.

"You can't trust the temporal drift--it is totally random and could make time seem to stand still or make two weeks pass or worse," Guile points out, "You would look cute as a puppy though. Senex, do you have Baleful Polymorph prepared?"

"No, it doesn't work on aspects, so it would be fairly worthless to prepare it," Senex points out.

(OOC: Yes, he made it through without touching any lights. He still lost 2 Wisdom though)
