D&D General The D&D Cartoon is set in Faerun since when?

DarkCrisis

Spreading holiday cheer.
The new starter adventure that uses the kids further cements they have always been in FR.

Also, they got home but got pulled back as adults with a new friend Niko the Cleric.

Be interesting seeing a Cleric of Jesus running around Faerun.

Though being WotC I'm sure Jesus is really Bahamut or whatever.

Wait does it refer to it as The Realm throughout the adventure? Cause that was the term used in the cartoon, they were sent to "The Realm of Dungeons & Dragons". And that is different from the Forgotten Realms.

So according to the previous starter Niko is Level 4 and her awesome magic item (given by DM?) is a mace that can summon a celestial several times a day? What?

Thats way better than a magic bow or cloak.

Makes sense to me. I, too, have had to bribe people to play clerics.

I have few quesitons to people in this thread:

1. Would any of you prefer if the cartoon was instead placed in Greyhawk? Geniuelly curious, since Greyhawk has a reputation of more malleable.

On a side note, these comics preceed WotC announcment of making Greyhawk new default setting for 5.24 edition. Thought to mention it since I recall people commenting this proves they're sticking to Realms as default setting.

2. If Venger is now a Red Wizard, does it say anything about any sort of relationship he may have with Szass Tam? Recently Ed Greenwood dropped a lot of plot hooks that seem to heavily feature various people of various levels and type of power lining up to take Szass down, I thought it would be funny if Venger was also on this list.

So I'm reading the new adventure staring the toon characters and it differentiates between The Realm and The Forgotten Realms.

So WotC has contradicted themselves. Again.
