OOC: Whoo, boy. My apologies, everybody. All I can say is that this has been one hell of a weekend +. With that out of the way, hopefully I can stay on track and keep this shindig rolling with precision and grace. (cough)

Golden Flower Bar

Five of Tony Shen's men storm up the stairs and into the room and quickly find themselves facing down a hail of bullets while returning fire. Mao's shouting snaps the screaming, blood-spattered woman back to her senses and she runs for cover, while the remaining patrons duck and cower under any tables they can find.

One of Mao's wild shots finds its mark, dropping one of his assailants, and one of Mark Huan's bodyguards, still standing in complete shock, is shot in the throat and falls.

Downstairs, Tony's remaining men stand ready to support their boss, most of them keeping an eye on the staircase. Their attention is quicly diverted to Jack Frost, however, as a glass smashes against the head of one of them. "You're going to pay for that!" He screams.

OOC:

Mao's Roll: +5, -4 +13 Guns = 14
Tony's Men:
(Shooting at Mao)
+2, -2
+5, -3
(Shooting at Jadefinger)
+5, -5
+1, -3
(Shooting at Mark's men)
+11, -3
Jack Frost's roll: +4, -5 + 13 Martial Arts = 12, Hit, but not enough to take him out...

In a rage, Jadefinger rushes for the stairs and solidly cracks one of Tony's Men's nose who falls back into one of his compatriots as blood spurts out of his nose. Jadefinger guns down both men without a glance as he dashes by.

As he reaches the bottom of the stairs, Tony Shen runs into May and with a cruel smile grabs her and places a gun to her head as he slowly heads for the exit. One of his men remaining downstairs shouts "Boss! We were supposed to wait for Two Smiles!"

As he quickly shifts his attention between Jadefinger and Jack Frost, he shouts back "He's late! And I don't like him, anyways!"

+13, -9 -2 Multiple targets, +15 Guns = 17 Boxcars with a success!

Mao: 5
Jadefinger: 7
Jack Frost: 7
Tony: 6
Tony's Men: 7
Mark's Men: 6

Wanchai District

Shinji's axe kick misses its mark as Eiji rolls backward, putting a crack in the street. Eiji rushes forward with a shout and barrages Shinji with a flurry of punches and kicks, all of which Shinji either blocks or avoids. As he briefly tires himself out, he smiles and says "Now it's time to get serious."

Focused on the fight at hand, Shinji doesn't notice the white van that has pulled up down the street behind him...

OOC

Shinji: +1, -4 + 15 Martial Arts = 12, Miss
Eiji: +3, -2 +?? = Miss

This ends the sequence, time for new initiative!

Shinji: 12
Eiji: 9
Yakuza Mooks: 10
Kane: 11
??1: 12
??2: 10
??3: ??

Racing through the streets of the Wanchai District, Hai Lee Fong continues to curse his luck as he realises that he's become lost in the web of tiny streets. Making a random turn, he happens on a largely empty street, but notices a lone man fighting off a gang of attackers in front of a run-down eatery, but more importantly, further down the street he sees the white van that almost crashed into him before!

OOC: You're ??3, if you decide to participate in this little shindig. I had originally intended for you to almost run into Shinji and Kane after they finish this fight, but this is going to take quite a while. That said, it's only fair that you get a chance to see some action yourself instead of driving in circles until everybody else has had their fun...

Also, Corinthi, could you do me a favor and post your character in the Rogue's Gallery thread? Paxus, I hope you're ready for a bit of action, because poor Shinji's going to be in trouble otherwise...

OOCly I'm spoiling for a fight, but I haven't seen any IC reason for Kane to help him. I'll take any vaguely reasonable excuse, but he's not the sort of fellow who considers an uneven fight just cause, especially when the guy who's losing appears to be on the side of the people he thinks want to kill him.

OOC: Yeah, I figured as much, really. I've had something in mind, though, and it'll help in fleshing out your melodramatic hook. I think it'll be pretty fun, actually...

"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!"

Jadefinger trains the USP, with ten rounds left in the clip, on Tony, who has taken a woman at gunpoint. One of Mark's mistresses, he muses.

"So, Tony," he starts, "you said you wanted to quit. So why the hell did you have to kill our boss in order to do it? Were you afraid he'd send someone after you? Keep you from revealing any secrets to the police? Or have you changed sides, like the rat-f**k son of a bitch you are?"

OOC: I'm spending my shot taking aim at Tony's head. I want to be able to peg this bastard without hitting May -- she isn't important to Jadefinger, but he does not like killing innocent people or seeing them killed.

I'm also going to call for an Info/Gangland Politics check so Jadefinger can try to figure out who the hell this "Two Smiles" guy is.

"
Another curse!
, say Fong. Is that van tricking me? And who the hell are those guys?"

Fong take a break and look at the van, trying to learn what it trying to do, and he take a look at the fight too, and try to look who is fighting. He doesn't intend to take the wrong side or put himself in deep :):):):).

Jack decides to save the quips for after he kills Tony. Rather than take the time to draw his own gun, he kicks the pistol out of the hand of a nearby mook, and as he catches it, he shoots at Tony. I'm trusting in the power of the Eagle Eye schtick to avoid hitting May, and spending a Fortune Point to counteract the stunt penalty.

"If you insist."

The words come out at what can barely be called a whisper as Shinji spreads his arms wide, inviting Eiji to strike, seeming to dare the young Yakuza tough to take his chances. Eiji automatically moves forward at the openning the apparently crazed target has given, only to be confronted with a swirl of crimson fabric as Shinji whirls, swinging his trenchcoat into Eiji's face in a move designed both to distract and to conceal the vicious pair of four-fingered nerve strikes Shinji launches at Eiji's exposed kidneys.

OOC: Hands Without Shadows on Eiji

Golden Flower Bar

Jadefinger blinks at the mention of Two Smiles as he recalls quite a few whispered stories and unbelievable rumors. Two Smiles is supposedly quite a ruthless killer who earned his nickname from his alleged habit of cheerfully greeting his mark, performing his hit with stone-faced coldness and remaining so until being paid. According to rumors, he was killed during a hit two years ago, and his body never found, but the fact he has recently resurfaced and gone back to business certainly dispells that. Though he has never worked for any particular group, rumor also has it that he's been quite close to the Black Dragon Tongs recently.

OOC: No need to document the roll, you got a 12 total. And now back to the action...

With a stunning blur of motion, Jack Frost effortlessly kicks the glock 17 away from one of Tony's men, plucks it out of the air, and immediately snaps of a shot at Tony. The bullet grazes Tony's face, leaving a nasty gash next to his eye and continuing past his ear.

Two of Tony's men upstairs turn their attention to Jadefinger after he rushes past, moving to fire down the staircase - and making the likely fatal mistake of ignoring the very real threat with them upstairs. Downstairs, the four still-armed mooks attack Jack Frost, though none manage to do more than graze his shoulder.

Jadefinger steadies his arm and takes aim as he and Tony exchange gunfire.

OOC:
Alright, the two-part stunt will give you a +2 difficulty, and offhand I'm saying Tony is getting 75% cover, which is another +4, dropped to +2 by the Eagle Eye schtick.

Roll: +5, +4 Fortune, -2, +13 Guns = 20 HIT! Little bit of damage.

Just to let you guys know, he's about halfway to making death checks...

The mooks:
(Shooting at Jadefinger)
+5 -5
+5 -1
(Shooting at Mark's men)
+3 -11
(Shooting at Jack Frost)
+2 -13(!)
+9 -4 =HIT! Jack takes 4 wound points as his shoulder is grazed.
+5 -1
+4 -3

rbingham, before I resolve any actions on shot 6, how many shots are you spending to aim? Each shot you spend nets you a +1 to your AV, up to +3.

Mao: 5
Jadefinger: 6?
Jack Frost: 4
Tony: 6
Tony's Men: 4
Mark's Men: 6

"Make me proud... Kane-kun."

With that, Kane's mind goes into a blur of memories and emotion as he feels a solid kick planted in his back. It was her voice he heard. It was also the last thing she said to him on that fateful night. But that was impossible; she was dead, along with all the others who went on that ill-fated job. As he goes through the window, he tries to twist back to see, but is greeted only by the sight of an angry owner shouting about the damage to his window.

Kane lands on his back on the street, surrounded by bits of broken glass and perilously close to the fight he had just been watching. He is quickly snapped out of his revery as a bullet ricochets next to his head, the source a thin, wiry man holding an unusual pistol and standing next to the white van. Also coming from the van are several men armed with sub-machine guns and a huge brute of a man who seems to have his attention on Shinji.

Shinji uses his deceptive attack style to sneak a strike past Eiji's guard and hits, though Eiji's instinctive reaction softens the sudden blow.

Roll: +2, -2 +15 Martial Arts = HIT! Slight damage.

Shinji: 9
Eiji: 9
Yakuza Mooks: 10
Kane: 11
Thin Gunman: 9
Big Guy: 10

OOC: Jadefinger's taking two shots to aim, and then he's taking his shot at Tony's head, praying to his ancestors that he doesn't hit May.
