The Dungeon Dudes are online trainable characters similar to virtual pets with RPG style advancement. There are a lot of things to do with a Dungeon Dude online: train them, earn experience points, gain levels, battle new creatures, find gold, discover new items, learn new skills, see new phrases, meet new Dudes. Players can share their Dude's code with other players in online forums or discussion groups.
Everything one finds online at the Dungeon Dudes Network (http://www.dungeondude.com) is being made available to the public for the low, low price of...NOTHING. That's right, all of the Dudes and their accessories are available to the public for free. This is possible due to the generous support of the member companies that have joined the Dungeon Dudes Network so please stop by their websites to show your support for this project.
I think this is a unique situation for the game industry as thousands of players are enjoying free stuff and businesses have a great opportunity to introduce their products to a new crowd.
The upcoming set of Tabletop Rules will also be available for free. They are designed to give players yet another way to interact with their Dungeon Dude characters. The rules will be simple, consistent with the online version of the Dungeon Dudes, small in scope, and easily set up.
Whenever a group is sitting around doing nothing, the Dungeon Dude Tabletop Rules and upcoming Scenarios will provide a quick form of entertainment that can last for minutes or hours. Players will be able to use either characters that they have trained online or the included Sample Dudes.
