The Faerie Woods [Knight Otu Judging]

If Gorefoot is able to move to G26, and thus interpose himself between her and the redcap, Percy will simply grimace and mutter "purple fire," sending another set of missiles towards the creature.

If Gorefoot stumbles in the rubble, she will shoot her missiles and then take a move action to go behind Gorefoot.

Round 1 actions:

Ishmael begins to rush forth, but his foot is trapped in a hole in the rubble. He falls forward into a group of rocks, banging his head on a particularly large stone. A small cut formed on the middle of his brow. Issuing forth from wound is a slow trickle of blood and no small amount of pain and fury.

He draws himself back up immediately, clutching the glaive's haft for support while his other hand pushes him upward.

Round 2:

A gutteral growl in Draconic escapes his lips as he looks up from his position and sees the Redcap begin his own approach. His left hand clutches the wooden arcane focus around his neck and a vision passes before eyes clouded with a divination.

"Feras ulthar nebas, Valthur. Feras vuun Nakros!"

*In Draconic:
"I see thine future, Evil One. It holds thine doom!"*

As those words escape his mouth, he moves forward carefully, in an attempt to block the Redcap's path to the Sorceress (E29) with his weapon's reach.

AoO value is +28 1d8+5 *with true strike*

Round 3:
oog1: If the Redcap is in melee reach (or within a 10 feet of melee reach), Ishmael power attacks for 3 points and Smites Evil. Glaive with *True Strike* +27 1d8+13 Glaive *without true strike* +7 1d8+13.

If the Redcap is beyond reach, then he instead draws and throws a cold iron dart at the evil creature. +28 1d3+2

oog2: I'm going out of town for the weekend with no internet access. Please NPC Ishmael for me. He'll try to melee the creature if it confronts him (taking 5 foot steps as necessary) or else heal any wounded if he can.

Ishmael is enraged though, so he tends toward attacking rather than healing unless the need is truly dire.

Round 2 continues

Initiative
Redcap (5 damage)
Nars
Gorefoot
Rodimus
Persephone
Ishmael

A blessing of grace seems to settle on Gorefoot as he slips easilly into position, in a defensive posture. (Balance check 1d20+1=21.)

Rodimus laboriously stands up. (Balance check 1d20+4=12 fails, no movement.)

Persephone, sheltered by the brave Gorefoot, blasts away for 2d4+2=7 points of damage.

Sir Ishmael draws arcane power into himself, allowing his next strike to strike with prescient accuracy. The brave Knight becomes angrier still when his plan is foiled as he makes no progress over the rough ground. Balance 1d20+3=9.

(End round 2.)

Round 3 Begins
The Redcap shifts his enormous (relatively speaking) scythe into his left hand, as he reaches into a pocket and pulls forth a length of cloth. He puts a rock into, and starts swinging it in preparation of launching a slingstone. Laughing, he shouts in common "I am a lord of murder! Come forth to your death! No mere mortals can stand against me now that I have bathed in blood and come into my true power, and your sorceror's fire is as the mere buzzing of bees before my might!"

Percy

Seeing the redcap busy both his hands preparing his sling, Percy sees an opportunity. Gauging her distance and taking a single step forward, she extends her finger again, but points only one finger at the redcap, not two, as she does with her magic missiles. Pointing at the necklace around his neck, she says "gotcha!"

OOC: From F27 to G19 is 35 feet, right? Exactly the range of her mage hand spell. She'll take a 5 foot step to get slightly closer just in case. She will attempt to grab the necklace and lift it over his head. I assume it weighs less than 5 pounds. Perhaps this would require a dex or sleigh of hand check. Her dex is 14. If he does grab it, at least that ought to foil his attack!

Persephone recalls that her mage hand spell automatically fails if she attempts to use it to manipulate a magical item. Does she still wish to try, or would you like to declare another action instead?

Gorefoot advances slowly, continuing to keep himself between the Redcap and Persephone, but shifts his grip on the deadly cold iron blade so that he might strike the creature if it comes within range. Mentally he curses himself for not having purchased cold iron-tipped javelins. He captures that anger as he was taught and feels the strength starting to flow into his limbs. When the Redcap boasts, Gorefoot just quietly smiles, the scar on his face making it look somewhat menacing.

OOC: Cautiously move to G23 (half move), ready an action to attack if the Redcap comes within range. I thought about trying to intimidate the Redcap, but he's still rational and therefore still focused on protecting Persephone.

I am also going to be out of town. If you want to run Gorefoot, then as soon as he gets within attack range he'll rage and begin stabbing the Redcap repeatedly in the face. ;) I'll try to get some time in an internet cafe tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to contribute a little.

OOC: Patlin, could you repost the map. And you're right on the balance, my mistake.
Nars moves to H25. He readies an action to fire his crossbow at the redcap as soon as Gorefoot moves past him (west of row 25).

OOC: Thanks for that tip, Paitlin. I reread the spell description. I'd never noticed that before. I'd taken the spell b/c I thought it would be useful for the immobile rod she has, but evidently not. Should have dropped it for read magic. Oh well. Thanks for letting me re-post. I'd originally indicated Percy would move to F26 so as to be able to get cover by leaning around that wall to cast my magic missiles. She'll take advantage of that now.

BIC: Percy will extend her two fingers again to fire her third set of purple missiles at the redcap, then, figuring that sling will probably be aiming at her, she'll take a careful step or two to gain concealment behind the ruined wall.

"Bath not give power. Bath make clean, stupid thing."
Wow. That's got to be the longest speech Rodimus has given so far. Guess he is really getting pissed off by the rubble. He tries to make his way to E-25.
