The Faerie Woods [Knight Otu Judging]

I could help protect our mounts from trouble and ride mine into battle offers Ishmael. He tries very hard to be helpful, but he occasionally lacks the common sense required to make a decent plan. Expecting the battle to be fierce, he takes his sling and bullets from Courage's saddlebags.

Master Trimble, when do these Worgs attack?

OOG: what time of day is it?

Ishmael would expect sunset to be in about half an hour.

"The beasts have been coming by every hour or two to harass me. It's almost as if they're trying to wear me down and prevent me from sleeping. You don't think they're smart enough to actually plan that, do you? It was last night that they attacked in earnest."

I would not put plotting and scheming beyond these beasts, ser. Perhaps, there is yet another sinister force behind these attacks... Ishmael looks at the slowly darkening skies with some trepidation. Night was coming all too soon.

Gorefoot begins looking around the outside of the cottage for any tactically defensible points. He knows he doesn't have a keen tactical mind, but it makes him feel useful, and a small smile creeps across his face as he says, "Nars, do you think we have enough time to build some traps before the Worgs attack again?"

The rules on trap building have always seemed a bit silly to me, as they appear to complicate only the elaborate trap and not simple snares. Nevertheless, it doesn't seem likely that you could finish even simple traps in time to be usefull.

By the way, is Persephone likely to embrace her fey taint or should I relegate that idea to the moot pile? My inspiration on that prestige class seems to hae run dry, I'd encourage you to put some input into the thread if you are considering it. Even an entirely different idea would be welcome.

OOC: I was hoping to discover more about it IC, before I read that thread. I'll have a look. I never intended to multi class Percy, and don't have a particular interest in doing so. My earlier comments were merely ment to indicate that I was willing to take such a class if the progress of the game made it seem appropriate. In generally I like it when PCs evolve organically with the adventure.

OOC: Are there trees near (within 80 ft) of the cottage for Percy to use as an artillery platform?

"Probably not, ah, enough time to conceal them well." Nars also makes a quick run through the inventory at the shop. If there's anything that looks really useful that they could borrow, i.e. magic swords, armor, etc, Nars will pause and look reverently at the fine craftsmanship saying "Sela's eyes, look at, er, that."

Percy

"We should probably stick together. There's no easy way to defend the horses. Let's just tie them up in back and hope for the best. I think I'll stick inside. I can get a bead on them through a partially boarded up window. Perhaps the roof would be a good place for you Nars, if you wouldn't fall through or off. Ishmael, if you want to ride your horse into battle, we'll certainly try to support you."

OOC: It's possible I won't be posting the next couple days. If so, & hostilities occur, Percy will try to stay inside and shoot magic missiles.

There are some large trees about 30' back from the cottage in most directions, with a clearer area to the south.

Percy intends to be inside. What about the rest of you?
