The Faerie Woods [Knight Otu Judging]

Gorefoot looks from Ishmael and Percy, then says, "I'll stick near Percy, and keep her safe. I'd probably have more room if I stood outside her window."

OOC: Gorefoot will take up position outside the window Percy chooses to use (unless told to do otherwise). He'll have his greatsword stabbed into the ground next to him (one hand on the pommel), a javelin in his hand, and his remaining javelins stabbed into the ground within easy reach.

Nars is open to being positioned where ever Ishmael or Percy designates. Does it appear the worgs have been attacking the shop from all directions? How high is the roof? Are there any useful durable goods to borrow for the fight with the worgs? Magic crossbows, mithril chain shirts, magic short swords?
Rules question: [SBLOCK]Is the tree sufficiently dense to provide concealment so that Nars could shoot in round 1, Hide in round 2, and shoot in round 3? The rules for sniping indicate a -20 on the Hide check, but the hide check is made on the same round as the shot so maybe spending an extra round removes the -20 or alternatly, maybe if the -20 check is failed then Nars is considered "observed" after firing and so cannot hide any more at all.[/SBLOCK]

The worgs have indeed been attacking the shop from all directions.

The roof is 12' high at its lowest point, and 20' high at its peak.

A variety of Masterwork items are about which could be borrowed. They await enchantment, as Trimble operates on a special order only basis.

Parts of the typical tree are dense enough to provide concealment, but the foliage in those spots is also dense enough to interfere with your shot. You could conceal yourself, then emerge from concealment to shoot. I would probably require a climb check as well as a hide check to hide in the tree once more. The more fundamental problem, as you note, is that you cannot hide while being observed, and the tree does not offer total concealment. The worg would certainly begin observing you if you shoot at them and fail to immediately re-hide under the sniping rules. You could still use bluff to create a distraction in order to hide.

Unless someone instructs him to go elsewhere, Nars borrows a masterwork crossbow and two masterwork shortswords (leaving his others inside), and ascends the roof. He lies prone on the roof, attempting to hide and awaiting the worgs, saying a prayer to Sela that these worgs can't jump 12 feet high.

OOC: Hide +7 (may not be possible on roof). It may be more useful to have Nars on the ground trying to flank and sneak attack since the horses need protection. If there's more than 3 or 4 worgs though, he won't last very long surrounded.

Ishmael will be riding atop Courage and carrying his lance and shield. He'll place himself near the horses if they're within visual range to Gorefoot, Rodimus and/or Nars. If the mounts are in a safe place, then Ishmael and Courage will stay near Gorefoot.

The Knight of the Wooden Sword checks the straps and riding gear upon his mount, then clambers unto the saddle. From a saddle-sheath, he takes out a lance and readies his scarred kite shield. Now Ishmael looks like a proper knight, if a bit small and bedraggled in apperance.

I am ready. Courage whinies in agreement.

OOC: If there is a small sized suit of armor that is better than his current studded leather, Gorefoot will ask to use it for the fight. He's feeling a little prone to death. ;)

Aslo, where's Rodimus going to be?

A small masterwork chain shirt is available. Re: Rodimus, are you asking Dalamar, or did he tell us he was going to be away for a bit or something?

Nars also says before climbing up the roof, "If, ah, anyone looks, er, in trouble, or there are, ah, only three or so worgs left, I'll jump down to help, er, finish 'em off."

Trimble will just stay out of the way (he is out of spells) and will not be placed on the map.

Feel free to adjust your positions, then roll initiative.

OoC: Not gone per say, but I'm at my folks' for the time being, and since the comp here is so darn slllooooooowww, I don't exactly enjoy frequenting the boards too often. Not to mention that I'm supposed to help look after the younger siblings. ;)

Now... A good tactical position for Rodimus is probably there in the front lines. Not sure if he should get into a tree to attack the worgs' flank once they're past him, or just wait near the cottage.
Did we pick up the redcap's sling? d6 is noticeably better base damage than Rodimus's current d2 for shurikens. Also, if one of the weapons available is a masterwork quarterstaff, Rodimus isn't averse of taking advantage of it.
