Yes, the movie looks promising, but here's the thing.

THANKS DAD.

I did laugh though.

I'm a little bit in two minds about this movie.

I like the cast, I predicted the setting (and probably the plot, we shall see) even when people told me I was a dumbass, so I am inclined to like that too. There's clearly good chemistry between all the cast members except maybe Johnny, which I dunno, that's actually kind of accurate to the FF isn't it? And that might be fine, we just haven't see it.

On the other hand, I really am not impressed with the visual design. I know I sound like my mum when I say this, but a lot of the supposed 1960s elements just don't look 1960s - and I know TV/movies can easily get this right because I saw Mad Men (which wasn't perfect but it was pretty close, according to people who were there). The robot is particularly a case of them falling in love with a design idea (reel-to-reel tape deck as face, ooof) and not really considering the overall design, which frankly, looks more mid-1980s than 1960s. I get that the original design is late '70s, but I feel like they could have done a lot better here and in several other places (Sue's make-up, for example). I'm sure the Youth Of Today won't care and nor should they really, but bah humbug I say.

Also this trailer, I hope they're just avoiding spoilers and this isn't the tedious AF origin story it looks like it might be.

You traveled from the Earth they were on? :O I'm sure you aren't going to like the excuse that it's an alternate earth from the one the MCU is set on. But I can chalk the look up to that.

Yeah I don't like that excuse.

Is that even the canon case? It sounds like headcanon to cover for the fact that you've noticed the same problem lol.

Please, please be good.
I just watched the trailer, and it doesn't look too good IMO. I probably won't go to the theater to see it. Ben's voice doesn't fit what I'd expect him to sound like and I don't ever remember Reed Richards rocking just a 70's porn stache. I don't think Pedro Pascal was the right casting choice. I've never seen the Roger Corman FF movie, but the last 3 weren't good either. I'm a FF fan but I've come to the conclusion that we may never get a good standalone film and they're better as a supporting role which they'll probably play in Secret Wars.
