Thanks to the hard work of Drothgary, the first voting round in the great hero showdown is over. So here goes round two!

The Terminator (Terminator 2)
The Batman
Captain Marvel
The Shadow
Robin Hood (mythology, movies)
Luke Skywalker (Star Wars)
Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Spider-Man (comics, movies, TV shows)
Indiana Jones (Indiana Jones movies) versus Hercules (mythology, movies, TV show)
Frodo Baggins (Lord of the Rings) (This was really, really tough for me)
Gandalf the Grey (Lord of the Rings)
John Sheridan (Babylon 5)
King Arthur (mythology, various novels)
Samwise Gamgee (Lord of the Rings)
Han Solo (Star Wars)
Thrall (Warcraft)
Austin Powers (movies)
Wolverine
Sherlock Holmes
Captain James T. Kirk (Star Trek)
Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Star Trek: The Next Generation)
The Doctor (Doctor Who)
Flash Gordon
Connor MacLeod (Highlander)
Optimus Prime (Transformers)
Odysseus (mythology)
Wonder Woman (comics, TV show)
The Hulk
The Tick (comics, tv shows)
Captain Adama (the new Battlestar Galactica)
Atticus Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird)
James Bond (movies, Ian Fleming's stories)

1. The Terminator (Terminator 2) - Conan may be the main character, but he isn't so much a *hero*. The Terminator in T2 sacrifices himself and his newfound emotions to save humanity.
2. Batman (Batman comics, Batman movies)
3. Captain Marvel (comics)
4. Ellen Ripley (Alien) - She has absolutely no reason to go back and fight those bugs, but does so anyway.
5. Robin Hood (mythology, movies)
6. Luke Skywalker (Star Wars) - I went with the one who didn't fall from grace.
7. Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) - She saved the world. A lot.
8. Spider-Man (comics, movies, TV shows) - Great responsibility and all that. Plus he beated outone of my nominees, Sir Galahad.
9. Indiana Jones (Indiana Jones movies)
10. Superman - Frodo failed in the end, y'know. Superman is the one character I can say inspired me through rough times, like my granma's death.
11. Gandalf the Grey (Lord of the Rings) - Don't know the other dude.
12. Hellboy (comics, movie) - Hellboy's fight against his own nature wins it for me.
13. King Arthur (mythology, various novels) - The Journey of the Hero and all that.
14. Samwise Gamgee (Lord of the Rings) - The true hero in LotR.
15. The Phantom - Sorry, Han, but the original costumed crimefighter wins it.
16. Thrall (Warcraft) - How did Speed Racer even make it this far? Thrall carved a nation for his people and rescued them from demonic control.
17. Corwin of Amber (Roger Zelany's Amber novels) - Austin isn't much of a hero. He's more of a shagster. :)
18. Solomon Kane - Once again, Wolverine isn't much of a hero.
19. Sherlock Holmes (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories)
20.
21. CuChulainn (Celtic mythology)
22. Ash (Army of Darkness) - Hail to the king, baby!
23. Flash Gordon - Flash! >TAMMMM< A-AAAA! Savior of the Universe!
24. Connor MacLeod (Highlander)
25. Optimus Prime (Transformers) - His death brought tears to a 11-year-old's eyes back inb the day.
26. Odysseus (mythology)
27. Wonder Woman (comics, TV show) - I'm basing this one on George Pérez's run.
28. Spike (Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel) - The Hulk was never intended to be a hero, just like Mr. Hyde. Spike at least fought his own bloodthirsty nature and WON his soul back (take THAT, Angel!)
29.
30. RoboCop - Haven't seen the new Galactica.
31. Atticus Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird)
32. James Bond (movies, Ian Fleming's stories)
