This year, the MIL put on A Muppet Christmas Carol, and it occurred to me: they made that and Muppet Treasure Island, but that was it as far as adapting classic novels. They really should have done a Muppet Gulliver's Travels, and maybe a Muppet Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea or The Muppets Around The World in Eighty Days. Those could have been fantastic! This has been my Modest Muppet Proposal...

All of those would be great, but I'd love to see (by which I mean "I would be delighted, horrified, and confused in equal measure to see") Muppet adaptations of non-adventure classics. Muppet Tristram Shandy, Muppet Jane Eyre, Muppet Bleak House, or Muppet Wings of the Dove. Hell, maybe even Muppet Middlemarch (Muppetmarch?) or Muppet Tess of the d'Urbervilles.

Edit to add: Muppet Vanity Fair might actually work a treat.

Gonzo as Captain Nemo.

Muppet Dracula. Muppet Frankenstein. Call of Muppet Cthulhu. Muppet Jungle Book. Tarzan of the Muppet Apes. John Carter of Muppet Mars. Muppet King in Yellow. Turn of the Muppet Screw.

Too much “I’m Sorry, Jon” and now the disease is spreading.

I hear the first Mickey Mouse cartoon, Steamboat Willie, will be public domain on 1 January 2024. That should be fun.
so because Disney still uses PART of the steamboat Willie Micky mouse, it will be very tricky to figure out how you can do anything with him.
