I've played entire modules by myself with a full party, right down to arguing over treasure and moral issues, lol. As a trained actor, it's just a matter of treating it like playing multiple parts in the same play. Of course, not everybody has the mental agility (and/or flexible-enough sanity) to keep five separate people in their head at the same time...
