You know, you hear about "suicide by cop" but you never really expect to see it happen in real time.

I saw a pretty serious attempt at it in person back when I was working in a homeless shelter. Thankfully the officers in question actually aimed carefully instead of just going for center of mass and the guy survived to resume taking his meds after a brief hospital stay. That was over ten years ago, and the department in question wasn't as prone to violence as some are.
