I saw a pretty serious attempt at it in person back when I was working in a homeless shelter. Thankfully the officers in question actually aimed carefully instead of just going for center of mass and the guy survived to resume taking his meds after a brief hospital stay. That was over ten years ago, and the department in question wasn't as prone to violence as some are.You know, you hear about "suicide by cop" but you never really expect to see it happen in real time.
