On idea I came across for healing potions that I like is, as a bonus action, you can take a healing potion and roll. As a full action, you get max HP for the healing potion. I always thought that was a neat way of doing it.All joking aside, my best houserule for 5E so far can be written on a postage stamp:
"Healing potions heal the maximum amount, but cost 50% more."
That's it, my Magnum Opus. I will never be able to top that one.
