How do you put Baldur's Gate in plural? Baldur's Gates? Baldurs' Gate?

I'm expecting a 900+ page thread about it with multiple mod warnings on my desk tomorrow!
Depends on what’s being pluralized. One Baldur with multiple gates, Baldur’s Gates. Multiple Baldurs with one gate, Baldurs’ Gate. Multiple Baldurs with multiple gates, Baldurs’ Gates. Multiple keys to multiple Baldurs multiple games, Baldurs’ Gates’ Keys…

TBF this is a part of the Mentzer rules I genuinely prefer. I think the spell acquisition sub-game is a key part of the fun of playing an M-U (or Elf).

My discussion involved someone asking what's the best edition to learn from (including retroclones) for total newcomers to D&D, and me recommending Mentzer Basic because I think it's still the best and gives the most advice and tutorial material. Someone castigated me for it, claiming OSE explains timekeeping better (despite having about two pages of introductory material) and because he thinks Frank is a bad person. :/

Use of obscure jargon that only the initiated understand is not, in fact, an attempt to bring "serious" criticism to the RPG space. It's an attempt to gatekeep anyone who doesn't want to read the same 3,000-word unedited blog posts you do.

You are, in fact, intentionally walling yourself off from the actual RPG community and the handful of people you are engage with are ultimately irrelevant unless one of you takes the heretical step of dropping the jargon and self-congratulatory tone and actually engages with the wider RPG community.
