The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

That's at least five times today I could have replied to something totally absurd, and started to, but just scrolled away instead. (Well, I mean, except for posting here).
Often for the best. I mean theres a particular thread that has gotten just so far up its own with some of the replies, I just cannot imagine people are serious in half of what they are saying, and if they actually really thought about it, I mean it just makes no sense and falls apart.

If other people like X, but you think it needs more Y, it's OK to leave X alone and create something new to put Y in, instead of changing X and making the people who liked X as-is unhappy instead.

While I don't really disagree, its easy for people to decide that since they want a lot of the things around X, and doing that from the ground up to get Y would be too much work. That's just how people are.

Addition good. Replacement bad.
Doing so much that you forget what you're trying to do is bad. Have you seen any of those "save a restaurant" shows? Massive menus of poorly cooked food is the number one problem. The first thing all those "celebrity" chefs do is tighten the menu so the staff can focus on doing those dishes well. No restaurant can serve everything. You're running a pizzeria, so even if the customers order sushi, you need to point them to a sushi restaurant instead of making terrible sushi at your pizza place.

Example good. Carrying to extreme bad.

I think this is what soured me on Eberron, actually. It really does feel like they tried to serve everything out of the same restaurant, in a manner of speaking.

The threads, and the conversations on the threads, right now made me either sad, or angry, or both.

Sangry.

Definitely sangry.

Sometimes I think I'm going to say something, and then I'm like ....
