Bagel shop got the pumpkin spiced lattes (apparently, heard someone order one, only place coffee belongs is porters and stouts) and the pumpkin spice cream cheese (not in the mood yet, but will at some point) this week too.

A) People like what they like. Someone wants pumpkin-spice tamales, they can have at. Whether you like the idea matters not.
B) The real point--which I'm pretty sure you got--is that tamales and pumpkin spice dessert/breakfast aren't mutually exclusive. Pumpkin spice season and tamale season can overlap without diminishing either.
