Unrelated to the above ... I don't want to get into an argument with you but there's a huge unexamined premise there.

Not an uncommon problem. I'm not sure they always reach the point of "begging the question" but in some cases its hard to call them anything else. And sometimes people get either really soggy or really baffled when you point it out.
