Wall of text?
Not quite. It's more like they love repeating themselves. They love it so much that they look for any excuse, any bad-faith interpretation they can possibly twist out of anyone else's comments, for the chance to repeat their argument again for the nth time.

"Oh you disagree? I must not have made myself clear, so allow me to repeat..."

or

"So when you say (whatever), you're actually saying (deliberate misinterpretation), so allow me to repeat..."

and so on. They clearly don't want to listen; they want to be the one who is listened to. Only.

Every time I read your opinions on this particular topic I feel like you're wilfully operating in bad faith or just in a totally different reality from me. So I'm DEFINITELY not going to spend time in this thread you've started on this topic, because I like your posts on other subjects, and going in there makes me want to use the Ignore feature.

any bad-faith interpretation

I find that simply calling things "bad faith" is an over-simplification that gets in the way of understanding the reality of human behavior.

Like, is it really "bad faith", or is it that they are conceptually so stuck on or enamored of this one idea that it is their hammer, such that everything else becomes a nail?

Is it really "bad faith" or is it that they are somewhere on the spectrum, such that they have more challenges than most in sussing out subtext in written word?

Or is it really "bad faith" or did you (generic, not you CNN specifically) actually not do nearly as good a job explaining yourself as you think you did? (This one is waaaay more common than most want to accept).

Etc.

Yes, if you change the word’s meaning to it’s opposite you’d be right. Since that’s not what the word actually means, I’m done responding to you.
